Truong Thao Vy (Kayleigh Truong) said she was proud to win a SEA Games medal with her twin sister and two other teammates of the Vietnamese women's 3x3 basketball team.

“I told my mother that we wanted to change the color of the medal and now it has come true. In the previous SEA Games, we won the silver medal and now the gold medal. I just want to shout that we are the gold medalists, that is what I have longed for in my career,” Truong Thao Vy shared after the match.
The 3x3 women's basketball team beat the Philippines 21-16, with Vietnamese-American twins Truong Thao Vy and Truong Thao My (Truong Twins) contributing 17 points. They had to endure the pain after the semi-final match with Indonesia and overcome the collisions with the tall Filipino players in the final to win the gold medal.
“Our biggest difficulty in the final was having to compete with the opponent’s tall players, especially Jack (Animam – PV), a good player. None of us are as tall as her, but we still overcame her,” Thao Vy said.

The 3x3 women's basketball team at the 32nd SEA Games combines the experience of Huynh Thi Ngoan with the youthful energy and understanding of the twins Thao Vy and Thao My. Thao Vy said that she and Thao My would not be able to play well if the duo were separated. She said: "We have been together since childhood, it is almost impossible to compete without each other."
Sisters Thao Vy - Thao My and 2 other teammates shed tears of happiness at the last moment of the Vietnamese women's basketball team's score. The image of two overseas Vietnamese athletes carrying the national flag made a strong impression on fans who came to the Elephant Hall (Morodok Techo) to cheer.
“As Vietnamese people, growing up in the Vietnamese community, we have longed to compete for the national team and make everyone proud. In the US, we don’t have many Vietnamese-American athletes to play with. So I feel happy to be back. Hopefully we can win more medals together in the future,” said the Vietnamese-American player.
Truong Thao My (Kayleigh Truong) was also moved when talking about her father (Man Truong - PV), who had a great influence on the career of these soccer sisters. "Thank you, Dad, for helping us become the players and people we are today. I think without Dad's support, we would not have been able to achieve these successes," said the older sister of the Truong Twins.
