The 99km-long Dau Giay - Phan Thiet Expressway (47km through Binh Thuan, 52km through Dong Nai) was started in September 2020 with a total investment of more than 12,500 billion VND. This is a key traffic route connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway.

The project consists of 4 packages passing through many localities in Dong Nai and Binh Thuan provinces. Currently, the intersection area with Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway has been basically completed, only waiting for the paint lines.

The expressway is designed with 6 lanes, a roadbed of over 32m, reaching a minimum speed of 60km/h, maximum of 120km/h. After completion, the distance from Ho Chi Minh City to Ke Ga will be shortened to nearly 2 hours and Phan Thiet to about 2.5 hours.

A section of the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay highway has been paved, passing through a vast rubber forest in Cam My district, Dong Nai. Both sides of the road have been completed with barriers and painted lines.

Before the entire route opens to traffic, there are still many items that need to be completed. In the photo is the access road to the expressway at the intersection with Highway 56.

In hot weather, many groups of workers are still working hard to install median strips, guardrails, protective fence systems, slopes, grass planting,...

The work of pouring concrete to prevent landslides in the section passing through Cam My district (Dong Nai) is being carried out urgently.

The Phan Thiet - Day Giay Expressway interchange with National Highway 1 passing through Xuan Tam Commune, Xuan Loc District has been basically completed. This is one of the most important items on the entire route.

In Tan Duc commune, Ham Tan district, an area is being leveled to build a rest stop.

An overpass across the highway is still unfinished. Previously, due to lack of materials, scarce soil and sand sources, and high prices, the construction was delayed. Later, the Dong Nai provincial government extended the deadline for 4 earth quarries so that the investor would have materials to build cross-roads and parallel roads to serve the people when the highway is in operation.

Packages 1 and 2 of the project are also completing the final stages of the main route. In the photo, the expressway section passes through a dragon fruit garden in Ham Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan.

Some traffic signs have been installed. In addition to the asphalt paving of the main route, the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway still has a large number of items that need to be completed before April 30, such as installing expansion joints on the main route bridges, installing a sign system, painting road markings, installing median strips, corrugated iron fences, drainage ditches, and organizing sanitation and cleaning the construction site.

To speed up the technical traffic opening time, contractors worked through the night. Image at the section in Tan Lap commune, Ham Thuan Nam district. When completed, this route will shorten the time from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet City (Binh Thuan) to more than 2 hours instead of 4 - 5 hours as at present.
