Coast Guard enhances combat readiness during Lunar New Year

On the occasion of preparing to welcome the Spring of Giap Thin 2024, on January 20-21, a working delegation of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command led by Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai, Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard, visited, inspected and wished a Happy New Year to officers and soldiers of combat-ready units of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command, the Drug Crime Prevention and Control Task Force No. 4, and the authorities, armed forces units, and people in Ca Mau province.

Over the past time, Coast Guard Region 4 has strictly maintained the on-duty system at all levels, grasped the assigned situation at sea, promptly handled situations, and effectively deployed the peak period of fighting against crimes and violations before, during and after the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024.

In particular, the Working Group directly inspected the implementation of the tasks of the Joint Command Center against IUU fishing located at the Headquarters of Coast Guard Region 4, and inspected the operation of vessels at sea through the command center.

Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai highly appreciated the efforts of agencies and units in strictly implementing the direction of the Ministry of National Defense, the Steering Committee for IUU fishing prevention and control maintained operations according to plan, achieving the set goals and requirements.

Stationed in Ca Mau province, Squadron 42, Coast Guard Region 4 Command and Drug Crime Prevention and Control Task Force No. 4 have closely coordinated with local Party committees, authorities and relevant forces to grasp the political security situation, social order and safety, especially grasp the methods and tricks of smuggling and trade fraudsters in the sea areas, ready to coordinate to handle situations; seriously organize combat readiness work, especially during the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin.

Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of combat readiness and preparation for the 2024 Lunar New Year as well as other aspects of the units. In addition, the Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard requested Party committees and commanders at all levels to continue to grasp and closely manage the troops' ideology; maintain the combat readiness regime, closely coordinate and cooperate with other forces to grasp the situation at sea, and effectively carry out the task of combating IUU fishing.

Improve the effectiveness of the peak period of fighting against crimes and law violations at sea to ensure absolute safety in all aspects. Organize the Lunar New Year 2024 for officers and soldiers to ensure joy, health, thrift, high combat readiness, and determination to successfully carry out tasks from the beginning of 2024.

"On the occasion of Lunar New Year, it is necessary to carefully review combat readiness work, assign appropriate on-duty forces, maintain a smooth communication system to promptly report to the Command Center. At the same time, organize a happy New Year celebration for the scientific duo; pay attention to encouraging and grasping the soldiers' ideology. This is an important task so that officers and soldiers can feel secure, be on duty during Tet, and complete their tasks well," Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai requested.

On this occasion, Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai and his delegation visited and extended New Year greetings to the Party Committee, Government, Armed Forces units and people of Ca Mau province.

Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai affirmed that officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Coast Guard will always accompany the army and people of Ca Mau province, building a strong military-civilian solidarity to contribute to firmly protecting security and order in the sea areas.
