Improving the competitiveness index of Thanh Hoa Department of Transport

Recently, Thanh Hoa Department of Transport has continuously proposed solutions to improve the competitiveness index (DDCI).

On December 9, Thanh Hoa Department of Transport announced that it had just held a conference to improve the Departmental Competitiveness Index (DDCI) for the period 2023 - 2025.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Deputy Director of Thanh Hoa Department of Transport, said that in recent times, under the strong direction of the Party Committee and leaders of the department, along with the efforts of the departments, offices, and units under the department, the support of businesses and people, the work of administrative reform, digital transformation, and improvement of the investment and business environment of the department has had clear changes.

The evaluation indexes of the Department of Transport in 2023 announced by Thanh Hoa province have the following results: Administrative reform index ranked 2nd; Digital transformation level ranked 3rd and is one of the units maintaining in the leading group of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

Mr. Trinh Huy Trieu, Director of Thanh Hoa Department of Transport, said that in the coming time, many solutions will be implemented to improve and enhance the DDCI competitiveness index.

In addition to the achieved results, the Departmental Competitiveness Index (DDCI) has a downward trend (reaching 56.39 points, down 10.31 points compared to 2022) and the ranking is not maintained, ranking 17th out of 22 departments, branches and sectors (down 5 places compared to 2022).

Thanh Hoa Department of Transport said that in addition to objective reasons, there are still some subjective reasons that lead to some component indicators being rated low by businesses such as transparency and access to information, dynamism and the role of the leader, and fair competition. However, the brightest point that businesses highly appreciate about the Department of Transport is its support for businesses.

At the conference, delegates and businesses operating in the transport sector focused on analyzing, discussing, and evaluating to clarify the difficulties and obstacles that need to be overcome. At the same time, solutions were proposed to improve the DDCI index for the entire transport sector in the following years. Determined to maintain and improve the positive results achieved, while overcoming shortcomings and limitations through improving scores, rankings, and component criteria to improve the DDCI Index, striving to rank in the good group of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

Regarding solutions in the coming time, Mr. Trinh Huy Trieu - Director of Thanh Hoa Department of Transport said that the department will continue to thoroughly grasp and raise awareness of cadres, civil servants and public employees about the meaning and importance of improving and raising the scores, numbers and rankings of the DDCI index.

Thereby, enhancing the sense of responsibility, service attitude and dynamism and creativity in handling work records and administrative procedures related to businesses and people, contributing to strongly improving the business investment environment and enhancing the competitiveness index.

The Director of Thanh Hoa Department of Transport requested that departments, offices, and affiliated units closely follow the requirements and contents of the component indicators to proactively and resolutely organize and implement the plan to achieve the highest efficiency.

In addition, it is necessary to promptly advise and propose specific solutions to maintain, improve and enhance the department's index, especially the component indicators that have not improved or have low scores. Implement transparency in information and content of the DDCI survey to the business community and people to promptly grasp and fully access information, creating changes in awareness and action when participating in the DDCI survey.
