In the 2024-2025 school year, A Tuc High School, Huong Hoa District, has 133 grade 12 students preparing for the graduation exam. In order to make the exam preparation most effective, from the beginning of the year, the school organized propaganda for parents to understand the new points of the 2025 high school graduation exam to create support and consensus in coordinating the management of student learning and graduation review. At the same time, advise students on choosing the right exam subjects for their learning ability and career orientation.

Principal of A Tuc High School Nguyen Tuu said that the school's students are mainly ethnic minorities from 7 communes in Lia region. For students, studying and reviewing for exams at school is important and unique because there are no exam preparation facilities outside the school to attend like in more favorable areas.

From this reality, the school's Board of Directors has stepped up propaganda, encouragement, and motivation for teachers to volunteer to help students review for the high school graduation exam. Out of 133 grade 12 students, only 1 student chose the natural science graduation exam subject; the rest chose social science subjects, so the school can easily arrange classes to review for them.

The school requires subject groups to adjust the graduation exam review plan specifically and in detail, closely following the key content, building a bank of exercise types according to topics, themes and the introduction of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), in accordance with the review time according to the new regulations (2 periods/week/subject).

At the same time, organize knowledge review in the form of classifying students' abilities into groups and wishes right at school after regular classes. Teachers of graduation exam subjects send homework, test questions, and suggested content for students to complete review tasks at home to enhance self-study habits and skills.

At another facility, Huong Hoa High School, Principal Le Chi Thong said that along with guiding students to choose the subjects to register for the graduation exam, the school has developed a specific and clear review plan from goals, subjects, time to content. The school's 12th grade students are organized to review the subjects: Math, Literature, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History, Economic and Legal Education, English, and Information Technology.

During the review process, professional groups review and classify students according to each level and target to review with focus and key points to achieve the best results. In addition to systematizing basic knowledge, teachers increase the practice and practice of each content according to the sample structure of the Ministry of Education and Training for students; analyze the format of reference questions; share questions, exercises and experiences in teaching and reviewing.

The general goal is to ensure that students have a solid grasp of knowledge, understand the nature of the problem to flexibly solve questions in the exam according to the levels: recognition, understanding, application and high application. In particular, based on the learning results of the first semester, school year 2024-2025 and the proposals of teachers teaching the subjects: Math, Literature grade 12, the school arranges 2 review classes for these 2 subjects for students with poor academic performance, at risk of failing the exam in the high school graduation exam.

At Dakrong Secondary and High School, Dakrong District, Mr. Tran Dang An, Principal of the school, said that priority is given to arranging teachers with good professional qualifications and skills to teach graduation exam preparation for students, limiting the assignment of these teachers to take on other concurrent tasks. The school organized free exam preparation for 162 12th grade students. Throughout the exam preparation process, teachers closely followed the format and structure of the high school graduation exam according to the 2018 General Education Program issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Professional groups and teams organize research, discussion, and experience from reference graduation exam sets developed by professional groups of high schools and other exam preparation materials to help teachers and students have the most effective review materials. Teachers prepare multiple choice questions, true and false multiple choice questions, and short answers. Particularly for Literature, review content is prepared without taking materials from textbooks to help students develop test-taking skills.

In the near future, the school will organize two mock graduation exams to assess students' abilities. "The school's review activities for 12th grade students are based on the spirit of teachers accompanying students, providing maximum support for them to have the best knowledge and skills to confidently enter the graduation exam. Based on the State budget and other legal funding sources, the school balances the expenses for tutoring and review tasks appropriately and in accordance with regulations to ensure the maintenance and improvement of the quality of education in general, especially the quality of 12th grade high school graduation", teacher Tran Dang An shared.

In order to prepare for the 2025 high school graduation exam with many new points, the Department of Education and Training also promptly and proactively guided schools, especially schools in mountainous areas, to continue implementing solutions to improve the quality of regular teaching hours, guide and supervise students' self-study to achieve efficiency, encourage students to study and research on their own through software, lecture videos, review websites, etc.

Along with systematizing basic and core knowledge, it is necessary to strengthen the training and practice of each content according to the sample structure of the Ministry of Education and Training. Schools need to have drastic solutions to end the situation of students getting failing marks in the high school graduation exam.
