On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the International Day of Older Persons on October 1, on the afternoon of September 26, provincial leaders visited and presented gifts to the elderly in several localities in the province.
On the afternoon of September 26, Comrade Doan Minh Huan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee visited and presented gifts to the elderly being cared for and nurtured at the Provincial Center for Social Protection and Work and representatives of the elderly in Ninh Binh city.
Accompanying the delegation were leaders of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; Provincial Party Committee Office; Ninh Binh Provincial Youth Union; leaders of Ninh Binh City Party Committee; Representative Board of the Provincial Association of the Elderly and representatives of local authorities where the delegation visited.
The Provincial Social Work and Protection Center is currently caring for 92 subjects, including 72 elderly people and people with severe disabilities. With the task of providing social work services and receiving, managing, caring for, and nurturing lonely elderly people with no place to rely on, and people with severe disabilities, in the past time, the officers, civil servants, and employees at the Center have cared for and nurtured the subjects with a sense of responsibility and love. The implementation of regimes and policies for the subjects is carried out by the Center in accordance with the State's regulations.
Next, the delegation visited and presented gifts to the families of the elderly: Nguyen Thi Em, 102 years old and Vu Thi Nhuong, 107 years old, both mothers of martyrs, living on Duc The street, Ninh Phong ward (Ninh Binh city).

At the places he visited, the Provincial Party Secretary kindly asked about the health, living conditions, material and spiritual life of the elderly at the Center and their families. He hoped that children, relatives and the community, together with local Party committees and authorities, would continue to care for, love and look after the elderly so that they could live happily and healthily, and constantly improve the quality of material and spiritual life for the elderly in the area.
The Provincial Party Secretary also wished the elders a happy and healthy life, promoting the spirit of "old age, bright example", continuing to teach their children and grandchildren to actively work, produce, and study; encouraging relatives to enthusiastically participate in social work, build cultural life in residential areas, and be a shining example for everyone to follow.
At the places visited, leaders of Ninh Binh province and city and local authorities presented gifts, visited and wished the elderly people good health, longevity and happiness.

Also attending were leaders of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; Representative Board of the Provincial Association of the Elderly; District Party Committee and People's Committee of Gia Vien district.

The delegation visited and presented gifts to Mr. Dinh Khac Tam, born in 1920 in An Ninh village, Gia Hoa commune and Ms. Do Thi Tam, born in 1922 in hamlet 6, Lien Son commune (Gia Vien district).
At the places he visited, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee kindly asked about the health and life of the elderly and expressed his excitement that despite their rare age, they were still clear-minded and were being well taken care of by their families.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee respectfully wished the elders good health and longevity to be a spiritual support for their children and grandchildren.
Affirming that the elderly are a valuable asset of the nation, the pillars of the family and society, he also requested that local Party committees, authorities and mass organizations have more specific and practical activities to improve the material and spiritual life of the elderly.
