A male passenger left a bag containing more than 800,000 Japanese yen in a public area of Noi Bai T2 terminal, and was discovered and returned by security personnel.
On the afternoon of January 1, while on patrol, Mr. Bui Van Tinh, a mobile security officer (Noi Bai Aviation Security Center) discovered a bag left on a cart near the traffic lane of the T2 international terminal.
Mr. Tinh coordinated with the security forces to check for explosives and make a record of property seizure. The bag contained 818,000 Japanese Yen (worth nearly 150 million VND), a wristwatch, a phone, a passport...
Airport security did not have the passenger’s phone number, so they contacted the local authorities at the address on the passport. After about 5 hours, the bag owner returned to Noi Bai to claim his belongings.

The male passenger said he was on a flight from Osaka (Japan) to Noi Bai airport. Because he was in a hurry to get on the bus to Hai Duong, he forgot his bag on the luggage cart. It was all his savings after 2 years of working in Japan.
"We were lucky because it was a public area. If the security guards hadn't picked it up, it would have been difficult to find again," said the passenger.
According to Noi Bai International Airport, in 2023, the Aviation Security Center picked up and returned directly to more than 40 passengers who left their belongings at the airport.
