Attending the Conference were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang, representatives of the Party Committee of Central Agencies, representatives of Party Committees at all levels, and a large number of officials and Party members of units under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang said that the Conference on disseminating Ho Chi Minh's Thought on public ethics today took place in a series of activities of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to celebrate the 133rd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.
Previously, on May 18, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a delegation to visit Uncle Ho's mausoleum, followed by a seminar on "Applying Ho Chi Minh's Diplomatic Thought in implementing the Foreign Policy of the 13th National Party Congress" chaired by Minister Bui Thanh Son with the participation of leaders, former leaders of the Ministry, representatives of Party committees at all levels and the Ministry's youth union.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is always proud to have beloved President Ho Chi Minh as its first Minister, the founder, trainer and guide of the Vietnamese Diplomatic Service, and then following in his footsteps, we have achieved the foundation we have today. He is an outstanding diplomat, an exemplary model for diplomatic staff of all times.
During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh pointed out that setting an example plays a great role and is a standard value in the ethics of cadres and party members. He once said, "A living example is worth more than a hundred propaganda speeches."
Fully aware of the importance of the pioneering, exemplary role and public ethics of each cadre and party member in implementing political tasks, Party building and industry building, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs always attaches importance to political and ideological work, upholds discipline, administrative discipline, professional ethics and public ethics according to Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style, in accordance with practical conditions and task requirements.
In the spirit of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology on public ethics, officials and Party members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at home and abroad have made efforts to cultivate and train their ethics, political qualities, sense of responsibility, sense of organization and discipline, and apply and practice basic ethical principles and standards such as diligence, thrift, integrity, impartiality, and selflessness; have a high sense of responsibility and discipline, and are proactive, proactive, and creative in foreign affairs work...

Entering a new development stage, as directed by Minister Bui Thanh Son from the beginning of 2023, the Foreign Affairs sector has synchronously deployed foreign affairs tasks and the task of building and developing the diplomatic sector. Cadres and Party members in the Party Committee need to innovate their thinking and action, shifting strongly to a service mindset.
Each cadre and party member needs to identify their duty and responsibility to serve the Fatherland and the People in order to wholeheartedly and wholeheartedly fulfill their assigned tasks. First is to serve the Party and the State, then to accompany and support ministries, branches, localities, businesses and people in the field of foreign affairs and international integration; so that all foreign affairs and diplomatic activities, from political diplomacy, economic diplomacy, cultural diplomacy, territorial borders to foreign communications, work with overseas Vietnamese, and citizen protection are all aimed at serving the development of the country and serving the people.

After the speech of Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, for nearly 2 hours, the Conference listened to Professor, Dr. Mach Quang Thang tell about the very special revolutionary life of the great man Ho Chi Minh, an outstanding cultural celebrity not only of the Vietnamese people but also of all humanity.
Mr. Mach Quang Thang emphasized that today's generations of diplomatic officials, especially the young generation, need to practically learn the dedicated working style, service and simple lifestyle of President Ho Chi Minh, an outstanding diplomat and the first Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.
Professor Mach Quang Thang recounted stories, lessons and quoted teachings of President Ho, not only for diplomats, but also for all those who are "servants" and "servants" of the people. Mr. Thang said that President Ho taught in an easy-to-understand way: "Cadres and party members are both leaders and loyal servants of the people". To do so, each cadre and party member must truly be loyal to the country, filial to the people, loving people, diligent, frugal, honest, impartial, highly responsible for work and always strictly following discipline.
At the same time, in performing work, we must always be curious, have a creative spirit in performing public duties, have a will to progress and a spirit of friendship and cooperation with colleagues... Public ethics is everything we do every day. Doing a good deed today, doing another good deed tomorrow, just like that, we will be good cadres, good civil servants.
Public ethics is demonstrated through daily actions and work, in the field of work, with the assigned tasks of each person. It is a mirror reflecting the personal character of a person who is dedicated to the people and the country, in accordance with the spirit of service, dedication, the spirit of "being a servant" of the people as taught by Him.
On May 18, at the Conference to review the implementation of Conclusion No. 01-KT/TW dated May 18, 2021 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW "On promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle" for the period 2021-2023, 50 Party cells out of 5,200 affiliated Party cells were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Party Committee of the Central Agencies for their outstanding achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle for the period 2021-2023, including the Party cell of the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO and the Party cell of the Vietnamese Embassy in Canada. |
