On July 18, Can Tho City People's Committee organized a seminar "Dialogue between local authorities and businesses".
Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, said that meeting and dialogue with businesses in the area has become a regular practice carried out annually. Through dialogue, there is an opportunity for two-way information exchange, for the city to listen to opinions from the business community and support to resolve difficulties and problems for businesses.

"The City People's Committee has been focusing on directing the drastic, synchronous and effective implementation of the resolutions of the Central Committee, the City Party Committee and the City People's Council. In particular, it continues to seriously implement and accelerate the removal of difficulties for businesses, promptly support affected subjects according to regulations, promote production and business activities, restore growth and economic development" - Mr. Tran Viet Truong emphasized.
At the seminar, many businesses raised many problems in production activities such as taxes, land, administrative procedures, etc. and each idea was answered by the departments and branches.
According to Can Tho City Party Secretary Nguyen Van Hieu, Can Tho's current economic structure is developing in the direction of industry, services, trade, and high-tech agriculture, but the scale is still modest. From the scale of business activities to the number of businesses, the nature of activities as well as the fields of operation of businesses are also still small.

Therefore, the city does not have large-scale enterprises worth several thousand billion VND, but mainly medium, small and micro-sized enterprises. From the above, the state budget collection rate is slow. Therefore, Mr. Hieu believes that these are the things the city needs to continue to strive for in the coming time.
"The Party Committee does not act on behalf of the government, but it has the responsibility to request the government to pay close attention and remove difficulties for businesses. In particular, for issues under the authority of the central agency, we must gather together to make proposals and recommendations soon," Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu emphasized.

Regarding cases and issues that businesses have proposed under the city's authority, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu said that businesses need to have written requests and departments and branches must also respond in writing to share responsibility and monitor results.
At the same time, the Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee also requested the leaders of the City People's Committee, departments and branches to establish channels for direct, face-to-face communication, contact, listen and resolve business issues. These include issues related to preferential policies on taxes, bank interest rates... which businesses often do not fully understand, but must be informed by state management activities, and this information must be made available to the business community, only then can businesses quickly implement.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu gave an example of a bank offering a credit package of 10,000 billion VND. If businesses in other localities knew about it faster and implemented it immediately, they would enjoy this incentive. Meanwhile, businesses in Can Tho did not have timely information so they could not access it. When they applied, they ran out of quota and had no more capital to lend.
The Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee added: "The City People's Committee specifically assigned departments and branches to thoroughly consider and be responsible for the recommendations of businesses, trying not to let these recommendations drag on because businesses are currently facing many difficulties. The Department of Home Affairs needs to advise the City People's Committee to reform administration more strongly, reduce harassment, paperwork that is not in the regulations and is unnecessary. Do not have 1 main door (1 connecting door - PV) but 9 side doors that make it difficult for businesses and people."
