As the head of the Thuan An village Party cell, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tho always struggles to find suitable ways to lead the people to protect and promote local cultural traditions, keep the village environment clean, and improve material and spiritual life...

With his dedication and exemplary role, Mr. Tho has inspired the people to successfully build a new rural village and maintained that title for 9 consecutive years. The Party cell and mass organizations in the village always complete their tasks well and are recognized, commended and rewarded by superiors.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tho (born in 1955) - Secretary of the Thuan An village Party Cell, Tam Hai island commune, has 43 years of Party membership. Before 1975, he lived in Buon Ma Thuot. In June 1976, he returned to his hometown to take care of his elderly mother and held the position of Deputy Police Chief of Tam Hai commune, then Secretary of the Youth Union; in 1982, Head of the Commune Culture and Information Department.

From 1983 - 1984 Vice Chairman, Head of Commune Police; from 1985 - 1987 Chairman of Commune People's Committee, 1990 Permanent Deputy Secretary of Commune Party Committee, in 1995 held the position of Chairman of Commune People's Committee.

In 2000, Mr. Tho retired and was elected as Secretary of the village Party Cell. During his career, he was awarded many certificates of merit, medals and commemorative medals by the Provincial People's Committee, Nui Thanh District People's Committee, Provincial Border Guard Command and other organizations.

After 24 years of working in the commune, in 2000, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tho retired and was ready to take on the task in the village as Secretary of the Party Cell. As a long-time cadre who held key positions in the Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune, since returning to the village, Mr. Tho has continued to contribute, set an example and actively mobilized party members and the masses to participate in movements, building new rural areas with many results.

Mr. Tho shared that Thuan An is a very special village of Tam Hai island commune. The village borders the East Sea, and there are many scenic spots and historical revolutionary relics in the area, such as: Ban Than - Hon Mang - Hon Dua national scenic spot, Whale Cemetery relic with more than 500 graves, ancient wells, and the relic site of the establishment of Quang Anh Minh Party Cell (the first party cell of Nui Thanh district).

“The locality still preserves many long-standing traditional cultural customs of coastal residents, patriotic traditions... so we have the responsibility to protect, promote, and arouse the pride and love of the homeland of the people. We must know how to absorb new things, the Party's guidelines, and State policies in the work of preserving culture and ancient beauty left by our ancestors" - Mr. Tho said.

Practice makes perfect

Thinking is doing, initially he relied on the Party Committee and Party Cell with 20 party members as the core. This was the leading force with the spirit of "party members go first, the country follows" to arouse and spread the spirit of building and organizing all movements among the masses.

People of Thuan An village join hands to keep the environment clean, contributing to attracting tourists.

After a period of "passing on the fire", the people in the village stood side by side with the Party Cell and mass organizations to enthusiastically start implementing the policies of the Party, the State and mass organizations.

Cultural, artistic, physical education and sports movements are focused on, such as organizing the annual Fishing Festival, restoring the Ba Trao singing team to compete with 5 coastal communes organized by the district, preserving historical relics, performing arts on important local occasions...

In addition, Mr. Tho and the Party Committee have directed the environmental sanitation of the village, especially the Nom beach area and the Ban Than - Hon Dua scenic spot. Because this is an estuary, rivers in Tam Nghia, Tam Quang, Tam Giang, Tam Hoa... all converge, and garbage from all over the place flows into Nom beach.

Faced with this situation, the village Party Committee mobilized the village Women's Union to take the lead in picking up trash at Nom beach, Ban Than scenic area. Thanks to that, the beach has always been clean in recent years, which has been recognized by tourists.

The movement to encourage learning and talent in the village has also developed strongly. Every year, the Village Association for Promoting Learning organizes a ceremony to honor and reward good and excellent students, poor students who overcome difficulties to study with a total amount of more than 30 million VND...
