Kinhtedothi - On the evening of January 15, Ben Tre province held a ceremony to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Ben Tre province's founding (January 1, 1900 - January 1, 2025); 65 years of Ben Tre Dong Khoi (January 17, 1960 - January 17, 2025).

At the ceremony, Acting Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Ho Thi Hoang Yen gave a speech commemorating the 125th anniversary of the founding of Ben Tre province and the 65th anniversary of the Ben Tre Uprising.
Ms. Ho Thi Hoang Yen said that this is an opportunity to review the heroic historical tradition, to show gratitude to the "founding fathers", "the ancestors who opened the land, the descendants who opened the foundation", to inspire and urge generations, especially the young generation to strive to rise up, to be worthy of the expectations of the generations of fathers and brothers, to preserve that tradition as a basis for building the homeland and country to become more and more prosperous and develop sustainably.
At the ceremony, the leaders of Ben Tre province also announced the province's founding date; announced the Prime Minister's Decision recognizing Ben Tre province's traditional day January 17.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long acknowledged, commended and warmly congratulated the important achievements that Ben Tre province has achieved in recent times, and congratulated the individuals honored and awarded noble titles today.
At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister especially congratulated Ben Tre province on the event that the Prime Minister decided to take January 17 every year as "Ben Tre Province Traditional Day" to honor the cultural and historical values of Ben Tre province; arouse the spirit and aspiration to rise up, promote socio-economic development and enhance solidarity in the community.
It is even more meaningful when January 17 is also the day of the Dong Khoi movement in the past. The Traditional Day will be a meaningful occasion for every Ben Tre citizen to review the good traditions and be proud of the achievements that the province has achieved through historical periods, promote more strongly the Dong Khoi spirit, Dong Khoi values, and constantly strive to enrich the homeland and the country.
In the coming time, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the Party Committee, government, army and people of Ben Tre to continue to preserve and foster the great national unity bloc, constantly improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization and Party members; consolidate solidarity and unity within the Party Committee and the entire political system, creating consensus among all classes of people.
In addition, it is necessary to focus on effectively implementing the Ben Tre Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050; arranging a "lean, efficient, effective, and effective" organizational structure so that Ben Tre becomes a fairly developed province in the country by 2030, aiming to become a prosperous province by 2050.
On this occasion, Ben Tre province awarded 3 titles of "Outstanding Dong Khoi Citizens" and 5 titles of "Honorary Dong Khoi Citizens".
