(Dan Tri) - The famous sushi chain Sushiro Hong Kong (China) said it will take legal action after a video of a boy licking and dropping a condiment tong on the restaurant floor.

A video posted on social media on February 4 shows a boy licking a condiment tong at a restaurant belonging to the famous sushi chain Sushiro Hong Kong (China).

The child knelt on a chair, still wearing his shoes, and licked a small food tong used to pick up pickled ginger from a communal container. He then dropped the tong on the floor, while the adults at the table continued to enjoy their meal.

It is known that these tongs are used to hold ginger - a spice often left on the table between customers.

The incident has sparked controversy on social media. Netizens blame the parents for not paying enough attention to their son. They say it is not just a food hygiene issue, but also a failure by parents to educate their children about public behavior.

In a statement, Sushiro Hong Kong branch said: "As a company that values food safety and customer experience, we are very concerned about this incident and have been following up on the matter immediately."

The company representative added that immediately after the incident, the restaurant took urgent measures to remedy the consequences, including removing all pickled ginger in the store, disinfecting all ginger containers and tongs to ensure hygiene and safety.

Meanwhile, to prevent similar incidents in the future, Sushiro is considering changing the way ginger is served at its Hong Kong restaurants.

"This incident has caused public concern about food hygiene and seriously affected the company's brand. We will take legal action," a representative of the brand chain affirmed.

Sushiro announced that it will continue to maintain its image as the leading conveyor belt sushi brand in Japan.

The unit will strictly implement food quality control measures to ensure all dishes and utensils meet hygiene standards, and is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable dining experience for customers.
