Arrested for organizing drug use, 'exposed' for storing counterfeit money

On November 15, Thang Binh District Police, Quang Nam Province, said they were continuing to investigate and handle two cases of drug use and counterfeit money possession.

According to the case file, on the morning of November 8, the Working Group of Ha Lam Town Police (Thang Binh District) conducted an administrative inspection of Mr. NVH's boarding house (Ha Lam Town).

At the time of the inspection, the authorities discovered that Vo Tan Vu (born in 1998), Nguyen Xuan Ha (born in 2004) and Nguyen Van Luu (born in 2004, all residing in Ha Lam town) showed suspicious signs, so they invited them in for questioning. Through a quick test, all three subjects tested positive for drugs.

Continuing to expand the investigation, Ha Lam Town Police coordinated with the Criminal Investigation Police Team on Criminal - Economic - Drug Crimes of Thang Binh District Police to identify Ho Xuan Tam (born in 1998, residing in Thanh Ly 2 village, Binh Nguyen commune, Thang Binh district) as the person who sold drugs to the above subjects for use.

During the investigation, the police discovered that Tam was carrying 1.3 million VND (11 polymer bills worth 100,000 VND and 1 polymer bill worth 200,000 VND) suspected to be counterfeit money, so they began questioning him.

Later, Tam admitted to keeping the money but had not used it before it was discovered.

Expanding the case, Thang Binh District Police continued to arrest Bui Vinh Quang (born in 1993, residing in Thanh Ly 2 village) and seized 1.1 million VND in counterfeit money from Quang.

The subjects confessed that the origin of the counterfeit money was ordered by Quang from a subject (unknown origin) on Facebook, then given to Tam to use.
