(GLO)- Kbang District Police have just arrested Nguyen Van Kien (born in 1982, residing in So Pai Commune, Kbang District) while he was hiding in Group 3, Kbang Town (Kbang District). Kien is wanted by the Investigation Police Agency of Kbang District Police for violating regulations on forest exploitation and protection and forest products.

As reported by Gia Lai Electronic Newspaper, on March 14, 2023, Kbang District Police received Decision No. 01/QD/KTVA-KL of Kbang District Forest Protection Department for the criminal case "Violating regulations on forest exploitation and protection and forest products" discovered on February 9, 2023 in sub-areas 144 and 188 of forest areas managed by So Pai Forestry One Member Co., Ltd. (administrative boundary of So Pai commune, Kbang district).
Through the on-site investigation by the authorities, the total volume of damaged wood was 44.42 m3 with 23 illegally exploited trees, including the following species: doi, cho chi, boi loi, re, xoay, goi do, gie, sao cat, bop. After receiving the case file from the Forest Protection Department, the District Police Investigation Agency synchronously deployed professional measures and proactively coordinated with relevant units in investigating the violators.
Through investigation, Kbang District Police identified the subjects who caused the above incident as: Nguyen Van Kien; Dinh Van Nhau (born in 1995), Dinh Nhi (born in 2004, all residing in Buon Luoi village, So Pai commune, Kbang district) and 2 other subjects who committed illegal logging in sub-areas 144 and 188.
On March 19, 2023, the Investigation Police Agency of Kbang District Police issued a decision to prosecute the accused and issue a temporary detention order against Dinh Van Nhau (subject Nhi was bailed by his family and applied a measure prohibiting him from leaving his place of residence). As for subject Nguyen Van Kien, he fled the locality, so Kbang District Police issued a decision to search for him.
In addition, the district police also temporarily detained a car and wood related to the case. On March 27, 2023, the Investigation Police Agency of Kbang District Police issued a wanted notice for Nguyen Van Kien. On May 31, 2023, Kbang District Police discovered and arrested Nguyen Van Kien while he was hiding in Group 3, Kbang Town.
