According to Opta predictions, Barcelona have an 87% chance of winning La Liga this season, while Real Madrid have only a 12% chance. Atletico Madrid are almost out of the race.

Opta also believes that barring a crazy scenario, coach Hansi Flick and his students will become champions with an expected score of 86 points, while Real Madrid and Atletico will collect 80 and 76 points respectively. Barcelona are closing in on their 27th championship in history after a steady and disciplined performance this season.

The Catalans have made a significant step forward in the race after Valencia beat Real Madrid 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu on April 5. Hours later, Barcelona earned a point after a 1-1 draw with Betis at Montjuic. The gap between the two teams has widened to four points, with eight rounds remaining in La Liga.

Hansi Flick's side are currently on a nine-game winning streak, while Real Madrid's stumbles against Valencia and Betis have further strengthened their chances of winning the title at the end of the season.

Barcelona and Real Madrid still have El Clasico in La Liga on May 11. AS predicts that if the Camp Nou team creates a 6-point gap with their rivals before the match takes place, Barcelona's ability to win the title will be almost unstoppable.

In addition to La Liga, Barcelona and Real Madrid will also face off in the Copa del Rey final on April 26.

Yamal caused a stir again on the day Barcelona defeated Atletico Madrid. In the early morning of April 3, Yamal helped Barca defeat Atletico Madrid 1-0 in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final, after a 4-4 draw in the first leg.
