According to Gaming Bolt , The Division 3 may be in development, but its predecessor seems to still have a lot of appeal. Accordingly, The Division 2 has been receiving new seasonal content for nearly 5 years since its launch, and an official expansion is also in the works. However, it may be coming to fans later than originally expected.
The Division 2 expansion delayed to 2025
Ubisoft recently announced the "Project Resolve" update for The Division 2 , which is described as a "seasonal update focused on the overall quality of the game", in preparation for future new content. While this update will bring significant improvements to the gameplay experience, having to reallocate development work to the update has resulted in a delay to The Division 2's next major expansion.
"The launch of Project Resolve will require our team to build a solid foundation. This has affected some previously announced plans," Ubisoft Bucharest's lead producer Radu Nedea explained in an announcement video. With the third season of Year 5's " Vanguard " scheduled to release in February next year, the main DLC will be pushed back to 2025.
Earlier this year, Ubisoft also announced that The Division 3 had begun development, while The Division Resurgence and The Division Heartland are also in the works, so fans of the franchise will have a lot to look forward to in the coming years.
