Dear: Comrade Ngo Dong Hai, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department;
Dear delegates, distinguished guests, comrades and friends!
Today, the Ministry of Information and Communications, in coordination with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, solemnly organized the Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition and Announcement of the Awards for the Photo and Video Contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam" in 2024. This is an important event to honor people across the country, overseas Vietnamese, and international friends who apply digital technology to create photos and videos about the country and people of Vietnam. The creativity and vitality of the people from the first contest in 2023 have spread nationwide and around the world. After last year's award ceremony, the Ministry of Information and Communications organized 15 exhibitions at home and abroad and transferred them to the Central Ministries, Departments, Branches and many localities to organize exhibitions at foreign affairs activities. The 2024 contest was launched nationwide with close and effective coordination between local leaders, Departments of Information and Communications, Departments of Culture - Sports and Tourism, and Literature and Arts Associations of provinces and cities. This year, the number of entries has reached over 10,000, an increase of more than 40% compared to 2023. Of the nearly 7,000 participating authors, 600 are foreign authors and nearly 270 are overseas Vietnamese. On the Vietnam.vn platform, there have been more than 90 million visitors, of which over 35% are from abroad. More than 10,000 photos are more than 10,000 stories about the peaceful, beautiful and happy country of Vietnam, recorded by the authors in images and videos. From mountainous areas to urban areas, from the mainland to the islands, from familiar things to heroic moments of the nation. The authors have different, vivid, realistic perspectives, reflecting the many aspects of their concept of happiness. Although the films are very short and the photos are taken by phone, the authors still tell vivid stories about the lives around them. After many days of serious and fair work, the Jury and Organizing Committee have selected 60 videos and 150 photos to display at the exhibition, of which 34 best works were awarded today. Digital technology helps people record, store and share the happy moments they experience. The Happy Vietnam photo and video contest also conveys a strong message that each of us can recognize and save the moments that make up life. Happy Vietnam has gone beyond the framework of a contest, a country, a region. In that spirit, I would like to officially declare the opening of the Exhibition and Announcement of the Awards for the Photo and Video Contest “Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam” 2024. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I would like to express my sincere and deepest thanks to the authors of more than 10,000 works for contributing to the Vietnamese people and the world to see a colorful and attractive Vietnam. I would like to thank the Jury and all those who have accompanied the Contest. I would like to sincerely thank the presence and attention of the delegates, distinguished guests, press agencies and all of you who attended this event. I wish all delegates, comrades and friends good health, success and happiness. Sincerely thank you!
