On March 15, the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province organized the implementation of the decision of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on personnel work.
Accordingly, Bac Lieu province reorganized 2 "super Departments": Department of Education , Science and Technology; Department of Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism, to re-establish 4 Departments: Department of Education and Training; Department of Science and Technology; Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Department of Information and Communications.
Of which, Ms. Lam Thi Sang, 55 years old, Director of the Department of Education, Science and Technology was appointed as Director of the Department of Education and Training; Mr. Luu Van Liem, Secretary of Vinh Loi district was appointed as Director of the Department of Science and Technology.
Ms. Tran Thi Lan Phuong, Director of the Department of Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism was appointed as Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Bui Thanh Toan, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism was appointed as Director of the Department of Information and Communications.
Previously, in 2018, Bac Lieu province merged the Department of Education and Training with the Department of Science and Technology to form the Department of Education, Science and Technology; merged the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism with the Department of Information and Communications to form the Department of Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism.
However, the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province believes that after a period of operation, the management functions of the two Departments are not similar to each other, and do not complement each other in the process of performing common tasks, leading to ineffectiveness.
After re-establishment, the Department of Education and Training has a Director and no more than 3 Deputy Directors; 5 professional and technical departments and equivalent; 21 public service units. The Department of Science and Technology has a Director and no more than 2 Deputy Directors; 5 professional and technical departments and equivalent; 2 public service units.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has a Director and no more than 3 Deputy Directors; 5 professional and equivalent departments; 7 public service units.
The Department of Information and Communications has a Director and no more than 2 Deputy Directors (if there is a secondment, no more than 3 Deputy Directors); 4 specialized, professional and equivalent departments; one public service unit.
