On the afternoon of June 15, Bac Ninh Customs Department and Luc Ngan District People's Committee, Bac Giang Province jointly announced the decision to establish the Kep Station Customs Operation Team; organize the export of lychee by rail at Kep International Railway Station (Lang Giang District, Bac Giang).
Bac Giang lychees exported to China for the first time by rail
This is the first time Bac Giang lychee has been exported by rail to the Chinese market.
Mr. La Van Nam, Chairman of Luc Ngan District People's Committee, said that Kep station of Bac Giang province, being exploited for international transportation, has opened a new transportation channel, a new favorable direction for businesses transporting, consuming and exporting lychees to China.
This is also the solution for Luc Ngan district to diversify markets, innovate consumption methods, export lychees by rail, and reduce dependence and pressure on road border gates.
Leaders of the General Department of Customs and the People's Committee of Bac Giang province congratulated the Kep Station Customs Operation Team on the first day of operation.

Mr. Hoang Viet Cuong, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs (Ministry of Finance), said that the launch of the Customs Operation Team will bring Kep station into the system of customs clearance locations, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality; reducing customs clearance time as well as transportation costs for businesses.
On the first day of operation, the Kep Station Customs Team completed export procedures for 56 tons of lychee and 17 containers of zinc oxide powder, with a total weight of 360 tons and a value of about 200,000 USD.
