According to physician Bui Dac Sang, mangosteen peel is often difficult to drink when taken alone (one mangosteen flavor). Mangosteen is often combined with other herbs and plants around the house such as fennel seeds, ginger, etc. to make it easier to drink and increase the effectiveness of the medicine. Below are the effects of mangosteen peel that not everyone knows:

Treating diarrhea: Mangosteen peel contains compounds that are great for the body's digestive function and eliminate bacteria that cause diarrhea. Use 24g of dried mangosteen peel and 2g of fennel seeds to make a decoction.

You can also use this remedy: Put 10 mangosteen peels in a clay pot, cover tightly with a banana leaf. Then boil until the water is very dark, drink 3-4 cups every day. This method helps stop diarrhea effectively because mangosteen peels contain tannins which are very astringent when drunk.

Cure dysentery: 6g mangosteen peel, 8g pennywort, 8g Eclipta prostrata, 6g green tea, 8g purslane, 8g Euphorbia hirta, 4g tangerine peel, 4g licorice, 3 slices ginger. Boil to get water to drink during the day.

Treat bad breath: Mangosteen peel of 1 fruit, enough honey, 200ml water. Take the pulp of 1 mangosteen peel, puree with honey and 200ml water, filter out the pulp and drink. To increase the delicious taste, you can add sugar and ice because mangosteen peel contains a lot of tannin, a bitter taste.

Treatment of irregular menstruation: Use 20g of dried mangosteen peel to boil water and drink.

Treating freckles: 20g fresh mangosteen peel. Use a spoon to scrape the soft flesh inside the mangosteen peel, puree it, mix it with honey and apply it on the face to help nourish the skin, prevent aging, and treat melasma for women.

Reduce blood cholesterol: Use a sufficient amount of dried mangosteen peel, boil water to drink instead of tea. This type of water is also very good for burning excess fat for people who are losing weight. In addition, mangosteen tea also has the effect of preventing cancer and anti-aging.
