AFC has just published an article commenting on 8 players expected to shine at the 2024 AFC U23 Championship. Accordingly, the 8 selected players are Ahmed Al Rawi (Qatar), Kuryu Matsuki (Japan), Eom Ji Sung (Korea), Sultan Adil (UAE), Ali Jasim (Iraq), Ahmed Al Ghamdi (Saudi Arabia), Khusain Norchaev (Uzbekistan) and Marselino Ferdinan (Indonesia).
Among these, except for the faces of Korea and Japan, the other players have more or less left their mark when wearing the national team jerseys, so they will be key factors of their teams at the 2024 AFC U23 Championship.
Notably, the AFC's list of players includes Marselino Ferdinan (Indonesia) as the representative of Southeast Asia, but there are no players from the U23 Vietnam squad. It can be seen that the recent poor performances of Vietnamese players have caused the AFC to not overestimate the squad that coach Hoang Anh Tuan has in hand for the tournament in Qatar.
The 2024 AFC U23 Championship starts today, April 15, and ends on May 3. On the opening day, there will be two matches between U23 Jordan and U23 Australia and U23 Qatar against U23 Indonesia.
