(Dan Tri) - A Chinese girl accused a luxury goods store employee of arbitrarily removing her scarf when she asked for a new one.
Recently, social media was abuzz with the incident of an employee of a fashion brand store in Japan kneeling down to apologize to a Chinese female customer.
Accordingly, the female customer mentioned above is Annie Datouzai, a social media influencer with 8,200 followers, especially in the fashion enthusiast community. She is Chinese but currently lives in New York (USA).
The incident happened when Annie Datouzai was traveling in Japan and shopping at a fashion brand store in Tokyo. Here, Annie tried on a woolen scarf and decided to buy it.
She asked the clerk to get a new one from the store's inventory. However, at this point, a sales associate came over and took the scarf Annie was trying on, then gave it to another customer standing nearby.
This action surprised and upset Annie. "Why did the staff take the scarf back without any explanation?", she wrote on her social media page.
When she tried to complain to the store, she encountered difficulties because the store staff did not communicate well in English. In her complaint, Annie expressed that she felt abandoned.
Finally, the store manager invited her to a room on the second floor. The manager, two employees, and the interpreter knelt down to apologize to her. The manager explained that the sales clerk decided to take the scarf back after consulting with the employee who was serving her. In addition, the store did not have cameras to verify the incident.
Annie took pictures of the employees' business cards and the scene of them kneeling down to apologize to her, and wrote a complaint to the brand's headquarters. She also received an apology via email from the head of the chain of stores and a promise to clarify the matter.
This incident has attracted public attention. Many people think that Annie's actions are "making a mountain out of a molehill", excessive and harsh. Meanwhile, many people defend Annie, sharing that her actions are to protect other customers.
"I don't make them kneel down and apologize to me. My biggest goal is to improve the shopping experience for other customers in the future," she said.
