(NADS) - The event marking the 10-year development milestone, the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival focuses on honoring the traditional beauty of Vietnamese traditional costumes. This special event is an important occasion for the community to celebrate and preserve cultural values over a decade.
To celebrate 10 years of development, the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival organized a series of events from March 7 to March 17, 2024, with the theme "I love Vietnamese Ao Dai". This event not only marks an important milestone but also aims to promote and maintain programs and activities within the framework of the Ao Dai Festival, turning it into a unique annual cultural and tourism product.
The program is organized by the Department of Tourism and the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union, in coordination with departments, branches, districts, and Thu Duc City. Activities take place at many locations such as President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park, Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Lam Son Park, Youth Cultural House, Ao Dai Museum, QT4 Square (Thu Duc Saigon Riverside Park), as well as other historical and cultural relics in Ho Chi Minh City.
The festival has the participation of more than 20 image ambassadors, including stars and celebrities from many fields such as politics, economics, arts, and entertainment. In addition, there is a strong response from the community, businesses, agencies, industries, and tourists, especially female civil servants and workers, when they wear Ao Dai in activities and at work during the festival.
The Ao Dai Festival not only helps spread and contribute to making Ao Dai a familiar costume in the daily life of Ho Chi Minh City residents, but also conveys the city's cultural and tourism image to both domestic and international visitors. The events and activities in the program are expected to promote the tourism industry and support related businesses.
In addition to the main events such as the opening ceremony, Ao Dai performance, art programs, and competitions, the Festival also has activities such as Ao Dai exhibition, discussions on the beauty of Vietnamese Ao Dai and international integration, as well as ticket discounts for art programs.
In particular, there are exhibition and interactive spaces with Ao Dai at many locations in the city, introducing the history of Ao Dai development and related products. The Ao Dai drawing contest, the Ao Dai online contest, and the logo design contest all aim to promote creativity and passion for this traditional costume.
The organizers of the Ao Dai Festival hope that this event will not only be a place to honor traditional beauty, but also an opportunity for the younger generation to better understand the cultural and historical values of Ao Dai, thereby maintaining and promoting this traditional value in modern life.
