Yen Bai - On the afternoon of February 18, Yen Bai province organized a meeting with businesses and investors in the province on the occasion of the beginning of the year of At Ty 2025 to inform about the socio-economic development situation of the province in the past year and listen to opinions shared by businesses, cooperatives, and investors operating in the province. In 2024, with the spirit of solidarity, determination, efforts, joint efforts and consensus of the entire political system, business community and people of all ethnic groups in the province; with many creative, flexible and synchronous solutions, Yen Bai province has gradually overcome difficulties, overcome challenges, and strived to quite comprehensively complete the political goals and tasks set for 2024.
The gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth rate in 2024 will reach 7.91%, ranking 7th out of 14 provinces in the region and 25th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide; the average growth rate in 2021-2024 will reach 7.54%; GRDP per capita will reach 56.3 million VND; 31/32 socio-economic targets will exceed and meet the set plan. Industrial production will continue to remain stable, with the growth rate of the industrial and construction sector reaching 9.01%. By the end of 2024, Yen Bai province will have 3,455 enterprises (in 2024 alone, 333 enterprises and 113 cooperatives will be newly established). In 2024, businesses will pay over 1,514 billion VND in taxes to the state budget, accounting for about 60% of the total balanced revenue in the area, down 4.03% compared to 2023.
Along with that, businesses have supported tens of billions of VND to implement the Housing Support Project for poor and near-poor households in the province for the period 2023-2025 along with many social security activities, humanitarian charity, support to overcome natural disasters, storms and floods...
In 2024, the total number of employees in enterprises in the province will be over 50,000 people. The province has newly issued investment policy approval decisions and investment registration certificates for 39 projects, with a total registered capital of nearly 11,100 billion VND and 5.27 million USD. Currently, in the province, there are 647 projects with a total registered investment capital of nearly 96,570 billion VND and over 280 million USD that have been granted investment policy decisions and investment registration certificates by the province, focusing on the fields of industry - construction, agricultural production, forestry, fishery, trade, services and other economic sectors.
At the meeting, businesses and investors exchanged and shared some experiences in production, business and corporate governance.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: To contribute to the achievement of the goal of striving to make Yen Bai one of the top 5 developing provinces in the Northern midland and mountainous region by 2030; striving to achieve a minimum growth rate of 8.2% in 2025, striving for a higher rate (reaching double digits) in favorable conditions; creating a solid foundation to achieve a double-digit growth rate in the period of 2026-2030, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh suggested: The business community needs to be proactive, flexible, based on the practical situation to constantly innovate, build and maintain the image and brand to conquer potential markets; strengthen joint ventures and linkages along the value chain to develop in a green and sustainable direction. Raise awareness, change thinking, working methods, production, and business based on digital technology to accompany the province in the process of implementing solutions to promote innovation, green growth, and digital transformation.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that state agencies continue to promote reform, simplify administrative procedures, effectively implement solutions to improve the investment and business environment, regularly grasp and promptly resolve and remove difficulties and obstacles for people and businesses.
Focus and prioritize resources to develop a synchronous and modern strategic infrastructure system, such as transport infrastructure, industrial zones and clusters; accelerate the implementation of key projects to complete and put into operation soon, creating new capacity for economic development. Strongly develop digital infrastructure, urban infrastructure, culture, society, education... At the same time, focus on renewing traditional growth drivers, especially solutions to stimulate investment, consumption, and exports; digital transformation, green transformation,... Strive to attract 1.5-2 times more investment than in 2024, contributing to completing the double-digit growth target of over 10.5%.
At the Conference, the Provincial People's Committee granted investment policy decisions to 7 projects in various fields.
At the same time, representatives of sponsoring units presented gifts to support the province's social security work.
On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 23 collectives that have made achievements in supporting, mobilizing finance, human resources and materials to contribute to flood prevention and overcoming the effects of storm No. 3 in the province in 2024.
