Stirring news of a gold shop winning 12 lottery tickets

On January 21, information that a gold shop in Kien Giang won 12 jackpot lottery tickets of Bac Lieu Lottery Company Limited attracted the attention of many social media users.

Below the post, many people mistakenly thought that the owner of the 12 lottery tickets was an employee of the KB gold shop in Kien Giang.

According to the poster, the 12 winning tickets with the number 432494 matched the Bac Lieu lottery results on January 16. Notably, all 12 lucky tickets belonged to one customer.

Contacting the KB gold shop in Kien Giang, we learned that the winning ticket did not belong to an employee. The shop only supported customers to disburse 11 winning tickets with the amount of 19.8 billion VND, not 12 tickets as posted on social media.

"The winning customer is from Kien Giang and asked to keep his information confidential. He bought 11 lottery tickets while on the road. The store does not offer the service of exchanging winning lottery tickets but still supports the disbursement of 11 winning tickets on the day," the gold shop representative shared.

Speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Nguyen Van Truyen, Chairman of Bac Lieu Province Lottery Company Limited, said that the company has paid out prizes to the winners of 11 special lottery tickets in Kien Giang with a total prize value of 22 billion VND (excluding tax).

"During this time, the company pays out prizes for 12 jackpot tickets every day. Almost every day, someone wins all 12 tickets and they all come to claim their prizes. The company has paid out the prizes in full," said Mr. Truyen.
