On June 12, a central working delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang visited and encouraged the victims of the gun attack on two commune People's Committee offices in Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province.
Timely encouragement
At the places he visited, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang visited and encouraged the families of the victims in the incident; at the same time, he requested Dak Lak provincial authorities to pay attention to and provide spiritual and material support to the families of the victims.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang then visited and encouraged two police officers and soldiers injured in the incident who are being treated at the Central Highlands General Hospital. The Deputy Prime Minister requested the locality, the health sector, and the Central Highlands General Hospital to focus all the best resources to treat the officers and soldiers being treated there.
According to the Central Highlands General Hospital, after a period of emergency care and intensive treatment, the health of the two police officers and soldiers has passed the critical stage and is temporarily stable.
On the same day, a working delegation led by Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security - visited, expressed condolences and encouraged the families of the deceased victims. General To Lam - Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security - sent wreaths and condolences to the families and relatives of the fallen commune police officers and soldiers.
On behalf of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang kindly visited and shared the great loss with the families; at the same time encouraged the families to suppress their grief and soon stabilize their spirit and life.
Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang also requested the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, and Dak Lak Provincial Police to pay attention to and create favorable conditions to help the families of officers and soldiers overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives soon, and have appropriate and timely policies for people with meritorious services.
On this occasion, the working delegation of the Ministry of Public Security presented the decisions on posthumous promotion of ranks by the Minister of Public Security to 4 police officers and soldiers who sacrificed their lives; and supported the families of officers and soldiers who sacrificed their lives or were injured while performing their duties.
During the day, agencies of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee also visited the homes of the three victims who died in the incident, laid wreaths, and paid their respects. Representatives of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee supported and sent their deepest condolences to the victims' families, hoping that the families would soon overcome their grief.

Continue to hunt down the subjects
Also on the morning of June 12, Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army - led a working delegation from the Ministry of National Defense to inspect the scene of the gun attack on the headquarters of the People's Committee of Ea Tieu commune and Ea Ktur commune of Cu Kuin district.
Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang listened to the local situation report and inspected the scene of the attack. The General encouraged the functional forces who are blocking and protecting the scene; requested the functional forces, militia and self-defense forces, and local authorities to continue to heighten their vigilance, maintain security and order, and ensure the safety of the people.
On the evening of June 12, Lieutenant General To An Xo, spokesman for the Ministry of Public Security, said that in the afternoon of the same day, the police force arrested one more suspect in the attack on the commune People's Committee headquarters in Cu Kuin district. Thus, as of 7 p.m. on June 12, the police force had arrested 27 suspects.
According to Lieutenant General To An Xo, the authorities have seized a number of military weapons, including CKC rifles. The authorities are still actively pursuing the remaining suspects.
Earlier, in the early morning of June 11, a group of unidentified people used guns to attack the headquarters of the People's Committee of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes. The incident left 4 police officers, 2 commune officials and 3 residents dead; 2 police officers were injured.
The Ministry of Public Security has directed the Dak Lak Provincial Police and professional units to deploy to arrest the group of subjects. The Ministry of Public Security requests people in Cu Kuin district and neighboring areas to remain calm, not panic; and follow the requests of local authorities and functional forces. If anyone has information related to the above group of subjects, please provide it immediately to the nearest police agency.
After the authorities completed the investigation of the scene, the Ea Tieu commune authorities proceeded to deal with the aftermath of the attack. Many offices that were vandalized, had their windows broken, and had been set on fire by petrol bombs were carefully cleaned up. Meanwhile, the Ea Ktur commune People's Committee headquarters is still restricting access.
Awarding "The Fatherland's Gratitude" certificates to 6 martyrs
On June 12, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang signed Decision No. 684/QD/TTg to award the "Fatherland's Gratitude" certificate to 4 martyrs of the Ministry of Public Security and 2 martyrs of Dak Lak province, who were officers and soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the incident where gunmen attacked the headquarters of the People's Committees of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes.
The list of 4 martyrs from the Ministry of Public Security includes: Major Hoang Trung (police officer of Ea Ktur commune), Captain Nguyen Dang Nhan (police officer of Ea Ktur commune), Major Tran Quoc Thang (police officer of Ea Tieu commune), Captain Ha Tuan Anh (police officer of Ea Tieu commune). The two martyrs from Dak Lak province include: Mr. Nguyen Van Kien (Party Secretary, Chairman of Ea Ktur commune People's Council), Mr. Nguyen Van Dung (Deputy Party Secretary, Chairman of Ea Tieu commune People's Committee).
