(NLDO) - Hue University of Science has opened a master's degree program in journalism since 2025 with an expected quota of 25 students.
On February 10, Hue University announced its 2025 graduate enrollment plan with 67 majors and expected enrollment quotas for its member units, enrolling in 4 batches in March, June, September and December 2025.
Accordingly, the University of Science has 21 majors, the University of Education has 26 majors, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy has 13 majors, the University of Agriculture and Forestry has 11 majors, the University of Foreign Languages has 4 majors, the University of Economics has 4 majors; the University of Law, the Faculty of Physical Education, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and the School of Tourism each train 1 major.

In particular, among the graduate training programs of the University of Science, this is the first year that the school is allowed to train at the master's level with an expected quota of 25 students. And this is also the first university in the Central region to open a master's training program in journalism.
More than 30 years ago, the University of Sciences, Hue University (at that time Hue University of Science) first trained in journalism; it was also the first university in the Central Highlands region to train in this major. In 1993, the subject "Overview of Journalism and Communication" was taught to Literature students, school year 1991-1994.
In 1996, the Faculty of Literature established the Literary Theory and Journalism group to implement a project to train in journalism.
One year later, the journalism department was established and trained for the first course, course 18 (1994-1998). In 2003, the Ministry of Education and Training officially allowed the University of Sciences, Hue University to train journalism, the first course K27 (2003-2007).
Currently, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication under Hue University of Sciences enrolls and trains hundreds of journalism students each year.
