Male shipper still dreams of being beaten while sleeping

Regarding the incident of a male shipper being beaten by a Lexus driver in Hanoi, on February 18, Ms. Nguyen Thi L. (29 years old, wife of Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - the beaten male shipper) shared about her husband's health and what happened after the incident.

Ms. L. said that her husband's health is now more stable. He was discharged from the hospital on the evening of February 17. However, he still has headaches, dizziness and cannot walk on his own. His spirit has not fully recovered, and he is still haunted by the events that happened after the beating.

Mr. Hung's wife said that in the past few days, someone claiming to be the Lexus driver's parents came to the hospital to visit her husband. However, after investigating, she discovered that these were not relatives of the driver. Worried about her husband's safety, Ms. L. decided to ask the hospital for permission to discharge him to go home for further treatment. "My family has authorized the entire case to the lawyer," she shared.

Talking about her husband's treatment, Ms. L. could not hide her sadness. During the first days of hospitalization, the pain from the bruises on his face and chest kept Mr. Hung from sleeping.

"Seeing my husband in pain, I didn't know what to do other than comfort and care for him. Recently, he was able to sleep a little, but he often talked nonsense and dreamed of being beaten," Ms. L. confided.

Mr. Hung shared: "Every time I doze off, I dream of being beaten and wake up in a panic. Sometimes my wife even wakes me up and I'm startled and scared."

Despite his poor health, Mr. Hung hopes to continue his delivery work at the bakery after he recovers. He is still worried about having to face the Lexus driver's relatives.

Difficult situation of male shipper

Ms. L. said that before the accident, her husband was a healthy man, working as a carpenter. However, in 2018, in a work accident at a carpentry workshop in his hometown, Mr. Hung lost his left hand. After the accident, he could not do heavy work and there was no suitable job in his hometown. He decided to go to Hanoi to find a job.

When he arrived in the capital, Mr. Hung applied for jobs in many places but was rejected. Finally, he was accepted to work at a bakery, where the owner understood his family's situation and took pity on him and hired him to do delivery work.

Ms. L. shared that thanks to this job, her family's life has become less difficult. Before, the family only relied on her income. With additional income from Mr. Hung, their life gradually became more stable. "My husband and I had a peaceful life until this heartbreaking incident happened," Ms. L. said sadly.

Ms. L. could not hide her surprise and indignation when she heard that her husband had been attacked. "He is a gentle person, never causing trouble for anyone. He is always careful and thoughtful, even parking his wife's bike himself so as not to affect others. Yet, just because he forgot to pay the bill once, he was beaten to the point of having to be hospitalized."

When asked about her future plans, Ms. L. said that her family still has many worries. Although her husband's health has shown signs of recovery, psychological trauma still haunts him. Hopefully, he will recover soon so that he can continue working and maintain a stable life for his family.
