On November 14, the National Assembly Standing Committee issued a Resolution on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Vinh Phuc province for the 2023-2025 period.
Vinh Phuc province will merge and reorganize 28 commune-level administrative units into 13 new commune-level administrative units. Specifically, from January 1, 2025, the commune-level administrative units of Vinh Phuc province will be reorganized as follows:
Phuc Yen City
Hai Ba Trung Ward was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 0.90 km2 and the population of 12,264 people of Trung Trac Ward and the entire natural area of 1.80 km2 and the population of 8,892 people of Trung Nhi Ward. After establishment, Hai Ba Trung Ward had a natural area of 2.70 km2 and a population of 21,156 people.
After the arrangement, Phuc Yen city has 9 commune-level administrative units, including 7 wards and 2 communes.
Vinh Tuong District
Sao Dai Viet commune was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 2.80 km2 and a population of 5,054 people of Viet Xuan commune; the entire natural area of 2.60 km2 and a population of 4,054 people of Bo Sao commune and the entire natural area of 5.90 km2 and a population of 6,300 people of Cao Dai commune. After establishment, Sao Dai Viet commune had a natural area of 11.30 km2 and a population of 15,408 people.
Merge the entire natural area of 3.00 km2 and population of 7,932 people of Tan Tien commune into Dai Dong commune. After merging, Dai Dong commune has a natural area of 8.20 km2 and a population of 19,826 people.
From January 1, 2025, Vinh Phuc province has 88 communes, 15 wards and 18 towns.
An Nhan commune was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 2.90 km2 and the population of 6,272 people of Ly Nhan commune and the entire natural area of 5.40 km2 and the population of 10,820 people of An Tuong commune. After establishment, An Nhan commune had a natural area of 8.30 km2 and a population of 17,092 people.
Luong Dien commune was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 3.30 km2 and the population of 6,652 people of Van Xuan commune and the entire natural area of 7.60 km2 and the population of 15,783 people of Binh Duong commune. After establishment, Luong Dien commune had a natural area of 10.90 km2 and a population of 22,435 people.
Establish Vinh Phu commune on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 4.70 km2, population of 5,352 people of Vinh Ninh commune and the entire natural area of 6.40 km2, population of 6,431 people of Phu Da commune. After establishment, Vinh Phu commune has a natural area of 11.10 km2 and a population of 11,783 people.
Merge the entire natural area of 3.30 km2 and population of 6,455 people of Vinh Son commune into Tho Tang town. After merging, Tho Tang town has a natural area of 8.60 km2 and a population of 24,989 people.
Merge the entire natural area of 3.20 km2 and population of 4,509 people of Tam Phuc commune into Vinh Tuong town. After merging, Vinh Tuong town has a natural area of 6.50 km2 and a population of 12,289 people.
After the arrangement, Vinh Tuong district has 20 commune-level administrative units, including 17 communes and 3 towns.
Song Lo District
Merge the entire natural area of 3.70 km2, population of 4,203 people of Nhao Son commune and the entire natural area of 5 km2, population of 4,920 people of Nhu Thuy commune into Tam Son town. After merging, Tam Son town has a natural area of 12.40 km2 and a population of 13,613 people.
Merge the entire natural area of 6.30 km2 and population of 3,519 people of Bach Luu commune into Hai Luu commune. After merging, Hai Luu commune has a natural area of 16.50 km2 and a population of 11,303 people.
After the arrangement, Song Lo district has 14 commune-level administrative units, including 13 communes and 1 town.
Yen Lac District
Merge the entire natural area of 3.20 km2 and population of 4,707 people of Hong Phuong commune into Hong Chau commune. After merging, Hong Chau commune has a natural area of 8.40 km2 and a population of 13,630 people.
After the arrangement, Yen Lac district has 16 commune-level administrative units, including 14 communes and 2 towns.
Lap Thach District
Tay Son commune was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 4.40 km2 and the population of 5,223 people of Dinh Chu commune and the entire natural area of 5.70 km2 and the population of 9,534 people of Trieu De commune. After establishment, Tay Son commune had a natural area of 10.10 km2 and a population of 14,757 people.
After the arrangement, Lap Thach district has 19 commune-level administrative units, including 17 communes and 2 towns.
Tam Duong District
Establishing Hoi Thinh commune on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 4.00 km2, population of 6,914 people of Van Hoi commune and the entire natural area of 4.40 km2, population of 8,566 people of Hop Thinh commune. After establishment, Hoi Thinh commune has a natural area of 8.40 km2 and a population of 15,480 people.
After the arrangement, Tam Duong district has 12 commune-level administrative units, including 10 communes and 2 towns.
Thus, after rearranging commune-level administrative units, Vinh Phuc province has 9 district-level administrative units, including 7 districts and 2 cities; 121 commune-level administrative units, including 88 communes, 15 wards and 18 towns.
