In 2023, Vietnam ranked third in the rankings, but with impressive growth over the past year, Vietnam has risen to second place.

Not just a statistic, this achievement reflects a positive change in the approach and innovative thinking of teaching and learning methods at schools across the country.

The year 2024 marks a strong and synchronous digital transformation effort of the entire education sector when online tools and systems are gradually becoming an indispensable part of the teaching and learning process. In particular, the application of the integrated learning content management system LCMS (Learning Content Management System) is a mandatory criterion in the Ministry of Education and Training's Digital Transformation Assessment Index.

Functioning as a complete LCMS system, Khan Academy platform has been accompanying millions of teachers and students across Vietnam to assess, teach and learn effectively.

Khan Academy is a free online education platform that offers a variety of learning content in subjects such as Math, Programming, Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), SAT and AP exam preparation, and many other soft skills courses.

It is also one of the pioneering platforms applying AI to optimize the assignment, assessment and management process as well as personalize students' learning experiences.

Thanks to that, teachers can easily use free digital learning materials on the platform in teaching, assigning, grading and evaluating automatically, helping to save time preparing lessons and quickly grasp the learning ability of each student.

For students, technology also helps them identify their strengths and weaknesses and find a learning path that suits their abilities.

This is an important step forward to improve the quality of education, providing access to the best knowledge for all students, regardless of conditions or circumstances.

In Vietnam, Khan Academy Vietnam (KAV) is a non-profit educational program implemented by The Vietnam Foundation (VNF).

In addition to translating and localizing Math, Programming, Probability and Statistics courses... suitable for students, KAV also organizes teacher training sessions to help teachers access and apply technology in teaching in the most effective way.

To date, 25,000 teachers in more than 5,300 schools across many localities have been trained and effectively used Khan Academy in their teaching.

Vietnam's rise to second place in the global rankings of Khan Academy usage is an important milestone, demonstrating the strong shift of Vietnamese education in the digital age.

This effort cannot be separated from the close coordination between Khan Academy Vietnam and the Departments of Education and Training, Departments of Education and Training and schools in many localities, to promote the application of technology in teaching, helping teachers and students access modern learning tools in the most effective way.

Mr. Pham Duc Trung Kien, founder of VNF, shared: “Our biggest wish is that every Vietnamese student has an account on Khan Academy to self-study Math and other subjects with the best quality, completely free of charge. This is possible thanks to the development of digital infrastructure in Vietnam, creating favorable conditions for online teaching and learning."

The strong growth of Khan Academy in Vietnam not only demonstrates the proactive approach to technology of leaders, teachers and students, but also shows Vietnam's great progress in its digital transformation strategy for education.

As the Government, educational institutions and communities join hands to promote the application of technology, Vietnam is affirming its position as one of the pioneering countries in digital education, opening up more equitable and effective learning opportunities for future generations.
