Vietnam and Israel will coordinate to effectively implement signed agreements, promote cooperation in startups and innovation, consider science and technology (S&T) as a key priority in bilateral cooperation and one of the pillars in cooperation between the two countries. This was announced at the 3rd Session of the Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, S&T and Other Fields Cooperation between Vietnam and Israel.
According to Vietnamese Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat, the meeting is of special significance in the bilateral relationship between the two countries, taking place on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Israel (July 12, 1993/July 12, 2023). The meeting aims to implement high-level agreements between the two countries, further strengthen the friendship and bilateral cooperation between the two countries in economics, science and technology and other fields, making an important contribution to promoting bilateral cooperation in all fields.
Minister Huynh Thanh Dat added that Vietnam and Israel have many similarities, but one outstanding similarity is the two peoples' efforts to overcome difficulties. The Vietnamese government and people highly appreciate Israel's achievements in socio-economic development, and its increasingly enhanced international position in the region and the world. Vietnam is impressed by the country's rapid development with a strong "start-up" spirit, contributing to making Israel a country with a strong economy and highly developed science and technology in the world.

Appreciating the importance of signing VIFTA, the two sides affirmed that VIFTA opens up a new opportunity to promote trade and investment relations between the two countries, which is an important premise to achieve the bilateral turnover target of 3 billion USD. Regarding science and technology, the two sides will coordinate to effectively implement signed agreements, promote cooperation in startups and innovation; consider science and technology as a key priority in bilateral cooperation, one of the pillars in cooperation between the two countries; especially in areas related to emerging economic trends and compatible with Vietnam's development strategy including sustainable development, digital transformation, green economy, circular economy and other fields.
The two sides signed the Minutes of the Third Session of the Vietnam-Israel Intergovernmental Committee and witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Information Security Department of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam and the Information Security Department of Israel. The two sides agreed to hold the Fourth Session of the Vietnam-Israel Intergovernmental Committee in 2025 in Israel.
