Bolivian general who captured Che Guevara dies at 84

Prado Salmon was in charge of a patrol in southwestern Bolivia on October 8, 1967.

He then captured the Argentine Marxist revolutionary, who was wounded in the operation. A day later, the Bolivian army executed Mr. Guevara.

Since mid-April, Prado Salmon has suffered health complications and has been receiving treatment in hospital.

Prado Salmon was left paralyzed after being accidentally shot in the spine in 1981. He was discharged from the military in 1988.
