HAGL's dream start
Hanoi FC entered the big match with HAGL in round 11 of V-League 2024 - 2025 with an overwhelming advantage. Not only did they just beat Da Nang to return to the championship race, coach Le Duc Tuan and his team also faced a team that had lost all 3 recent away matches. In the match at Hang Day Stadium last season, Hanoi FC also easily won 2-0 against HAGL.

However, on the penalty spot, Tuan Hai's shot hit the crossbar. The 1998-born striker's miss in the 90+11th minute ended Hanoi FC's chance to score. Even if HAGL had been more careful in the final minutes, the home team would not have lost by just 1 goal.
Defeating Hanoi FC 1-0, HAGL rose to sixth place with 16 points. Meanwhile, former champion Hanoi dropped to fourth place with 17 points.
