Vietnam Australia International School (VAS) marks 20-year milestone with outstanding achievements

Honoring VAS students with high achievements in competitions at all levels at the Closing Ceremony of the 2023-2024 school year.

More than 2,000 awards and 150 billion VND in scholarships

This year, VAS students won 2,064 awards at academic and talent competitions from district, city, national to international levels. This number is twice as high as in the 2022-2023 school year and four times higher than in the 2021-2022 school year.

Of these, the number of national and international awards is 821 (accounting for 40%); 54% of the awards come from primary school students. Many excellent primary school students won more than 10 awards, with some students winning up to 46 awards.

Along with the outstanding number of awards, as of mid-May, VAS students also brought home 145 early scholarships with a total value of 157 billion VND, 2.7 times higher than last year. This number continues to increase.

Notably, there are excellent students who have won many scholarships from prestigious universities around the world such as: Nguyen Duc Uy Liem (grade 12, VAS Garden Hills, 11 scholarships); Le Minh Bao (grade 12, VAS Hoang Van Thu, 9 scholarships), Nguyen Thanh Bach (grade 12, VAS Riverside, 8 scholarships), Phan Anh Dung (grade 12, VAS Sala, 7 scholarships), Vu Thi Ngoc Hien (grade 12, VAS Ba Thang Hai, 5 scholarships), Vo Phuong Anh (grade 12, VAS Hoang Van Thu, 4 scholarships)...

In addition, VAS also awarded the "VAS Excellence Scholarship" to 33 students with the highest academic achievements in the grade and the "VAS Changemaker Award" to 10 students with outstanding contributions to the community. This is the school's recognition and encouragement for the efforts of VAS students not only in the academic field but also in community initiatives.

Maintain excellent Cambridge results

The 2023-2024 school year is also the year that VAS students achieve many outstanding achievements in the Cambridge program.

In the Cambridge Intensive English Pathway (CEP), nearly 50% of students achieved the highest grade (AA*) in English.

In the Cambridge Bilingual Pathway (CAP) and Cambridge Comprehensive International Integration (CAPI), 30% -40% of students achieved the highest score of AA* for all Cambridge exams including 3 AS/A Level subjects (grades 11-12), 4 IGCSE subjects (grades 9-10) and 3 Cambridge Maths, English, Science subjects (grades 1-8).

In the 2023 Cambridge Assessment Exam, VAS students also reaped a "bumper harvest" with 4 titles of "Highest Score in Vietnam", 170 students achieved AA* scores in all subjects and nearly 1,000 other students were honored for their high and excellent achievements.

As every year, 100% of VAS grade 12 students are eligible to take the National High School Graduation Exam and university entrance exam, including students studying the CAPI fully integrated international program.

This means that VAS CAPI students who register for the graduation exam will have a "dual degree" output, including both the national high school graduation diploma and the international Cambridge A Level diploma.

Students of VAS's CAP and CAPI pathways receive a "dual diploma" after graduating from grade 12.

With Cambridge English certificate and A Level diploma, VAS students are also exempted from the English exam in the national high school graduation exam.

The A Level also helps students to be exempted from many credits in the first year, shortening the university time by nearly 1 year. This is a great advantage for students studying the bilingual and fully integrated international pathway at VAS.

The 2023-2024 school year with the theme "Well-becoming: Nurturing Resilience and Happiness" marked the impressive 20-year milestone of VAS, and opened a new journey on the journey of steadfast growth and happiness of VAS as well as of all VASers.

In 2 decades of formation and development, VAS has become the place where dozens of generations of excellent students have grown up, successfully pursuing their dreams in many different fields in Vietnam and around the world.
