New video from the Ukrainian frontline shows the destruction of a US-made M1A1 Abrams tank in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The tank was left immobile after a Russian drone strike and abandoned by the Ukrainian military on the battlefield. The Abrams was later destroyed by Russian troops using Krasnopol precision-guided munitions. The incident reportedly took place in the direction of Avdeevka.

After losing a large number of expensive American-made tanks, the Ukrainian army finally decided to upgrade its American tanks with a Russian invention - the anti-drone net along with the Soviet Kontakt-1 explosive reactive armor. However, this upgrade cannot protect the tanks from attacks by Krasnopol smart munitions and many other Russian weapons.

Ukraine attacks Lugansk with NATO missiles

NATO hardware was also used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to attack the city of Lugansk, the capital of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic. Local authorities confirmed the attacks.

The Ukrainian army once again used a double attack tactic to inflict maximum damage on emergency services. The attack was carried out with NATO missiles.

The first attack on Lugansk was carried out late at night on May 27, and cluster bombs were used by Ukraine in this attack. According to preliminary reports, the shelling was carried out by the US-made HIMARS system. Later, some reports said that the type of missile used in the attack was the US-made ATACMS.

Russian air defenses intercepted some of the missiles, but at least one of them hit the city. A fire broke out after the attack. According to local sources, there were casualties in the attack.

As firefighters began extinguishing the blaze, Ukrainian forces launched a second attack using cluster bombs. According to preliminary reports, the second attack was repelled and casualties were avoided.

Unlike neighboring Donetsk, Lugansk has been less frequently targeted by the Ukrainian military. Russian troops have kept the local population safe after pushing the frontline west. However, with long-range weapons received from NATO, Ukraine has been able to reach the city and threaten civilians once again. Earlier on May 20, the Ukrainian military also launched an attack on the village of Yubileyny, located on the outskirts of Lugansk, using French-made missiles.
