Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee agreed on the project to adjust the planning of Palace II towards restoration and upgrading to serve tourism activities.

According to the document dated June 1 of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, the two main gates of Palace II, also known as Summer Palace, located on Tran Hung Dao Street, Ward 10, Da Lat City, are open, including the gate to Palace II from the direction of Lam Dong Radio and Television Station and the gate from the direction of Tran Hung Dao villa area.
The Palace II House will have a toilet built in the basement. Villas 12A, 12B and 12C in the premises will be upgraded and expanded, complying with construction requirements. The tourist service facilities in the Palace II restaurant area will be newly built.
The project also agreed to build a new reception and reception area at the gate near the villa area on Tran Hung Dao street into a coffee and beverage service area. In addition, the main traffic route will be directed towards this gate.
Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee said that the upcoming restoration activities of the mansion will be carried out to ensure the goals of conservation, embellishment, renovation, and construction investment without destroying the landscape and preserving architectural and historical values.
The Palace II area and the garden will be restored to the model from the time of Governor General of Indochina Jean Decoux, incorporating some historical changes similar to Palace I and Palace III. These two areas will be renovated to serve local tourism activities.
The remaining buildings are used to develop into high quality resorts.
The deterioration of the Palace II has existed for many years, affecting the aesthetics and quality of tourism services. At the end of January 2022, Lam Dong province met and agreed to renovate and upgrade the Palace II area.
Related contents and draft project planning reports will be implemented by the Provincial Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board before June 15.
Mr. Le Anh Kiet, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Da Lat City, said that only Palace I (Tran Quang Dieu Street, Ward 10) and Palace III (Hung Vuong Street, Ward 10) are open and sell entrance tickets to tourists. Meanwhile, Palace II is used as a guest house of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee.
This mansion is located in the center of Da Lat, about 2 km from Da Lat market and 1 km from Xuan Huong lake. Palace II was built in 1937, designed by French architects. This place used to be the administrative office during the time of Governor General of Indochina Jean Decoux.
