Ms. Huynh Le Nhu Trang - Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs informed that Decision No. 2373/QD-UB dated May 17, 2005 of the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on adding tasks to the Thi Nghe Orphanage for Disabled Children mentioned that the Center is allowed to organize services to care for disabled children for children whose families have a need for boarding children. Therefore, the Center's announcement that it does not accept children over 15 years old (which has recently attracted public attention) is based on the assigned functions and tasks.

However, in order to create conditions for children to soon stabilize their study places in the 2023-2024 school year, and at the same time effectively implement social security policies, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has proposed to the City People's Committee to allow the Thi Nghe Orphanage for Disabled Children to provide boarding care services for disabled people aged 16 and over for families in need. This proposal has been approved by the City People's Committee.
Therefore, the Center will continue to provide boarding care services for people with disabilities aged 16 and over for families in need. Currently, the unit has notified parents in need to come to the Center to complete procedures to prepare for the new school year.
