Exhibition for beverage industry attracts Vietnamese businesses

ANTD.VN - On the morning of February 18, a press conference was held in Hanoi to provide information about the Exhibition for the Beverage and Liquid Food Industry (Drinktec 2025).

Mr. Nguyen Van Viet, Chairman of the Beer, Alcohol and Beverage Association, informed about the Drinktec 2025 exhibition.

The world's leading exhibition for the Beverage and Liquid Food Industry drinktec 2025 will take place from September 15-19, 2025 in Munich, Federal Republic of Germany with the participation of many businesses from about 60 countries.

At the press conference of Drinktec 2025 organized by Yontex Limited Company in collaboration with the Vietnam Beer, Alcohol and Beverage Association (VBA) on the morning of February 18, Mr. Nguyen Van Viet, Chairman of VBA, said that Drinktec is held every 4 years and is a prestigious event, introducing the latest technologies, developed in the 4.0 and 5.0 periods in the beverage industry. Therefore, this is a great opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to access the world's leading technologies.

The event attracted a large number of Vietnamese businesses to attend. Through Drinktec, the Vietnamese beverage industry can update digital technologies, digital techniques as well as green technology transformation, circular technology, while strengthening connections with partners and expanding the market.

“The seminar within the framework of the exhibition brings the latest technologies, the most advanced techniques and current developments. This is a great opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to access leading technologies from Germany, Europe and other countries in the world. Through this seminar, it is also an opportunity to help the Vietnamese beverage industry develop to meet digital technology, digital technology as well as green technology transformation, circular technology and meet the current development stage” - Mr. Nguyen Van Viet said.

Fierce competition on the supply side, coupled with rising incomes and a young population on the demand side, are driving sales in Vietnam’s non-alcoholic beverage market. In 2024, total beverage consumption in Vietnam reached nearly 6 billion liters, with a forecast to increase by 28% by 2028.

Mr. Richard Clemens, Executive Director of two associations under VDMA (Food Processing & Packaging Machinery Association and Processing Plant & Equipment Association) forecasts that alcohol consumption in Vietnam will increase by nearly 50%, from 4.3 billion liters to 6.5 billion liters by 2028, the highest growth rate among the top 10 largest markets in Asia.

“Health trends, new formulations, functional ingredients and the growing importance of protein in beverages are opening up new business opportunities, Drinktec 2025 will provide solutions to these issues, focusing on key topics including: Resource management and circular flow; value from data, health..,” said Mr. Richard Clemens.

According to VDMA figures, global trade in food processing and packaging machinery has been growing steadily, reaching a record 52.6 billion euros in 2023. During the period 2014 - 2023, the total international trade value of the industry reached 428 billion euros, an increase of 46%.

Europe is currently the world's largest consumer market for food processing and packaging machinery, accounting for 41% of the market share. Asia ranks second with 19%, followed by North America (18%), the Middle East - Africa (10%), Latin America (9%)... Italy, Germany and China are the three largest machinery suppliers in the world.

Vietnam is a notable import market. In 2023 alone, the total value of beverage machinery imported into Vietnam reached 517 million Euros, of which more than half came from China. Italy ranked second with 50 million Euros, followed by Japan (44 million Euros), South Korea (43 million Euros) and Germany (32 million Euros).

Regarding beverage consumption demand, citing data from Euromonitor International - a UK-based market research organization, Mr. Markus Kosak - Executive Director of the Drinktec Exhibition chain at Yontex said that the total global beverage consumption is expected to increase by 16%, reaching 972 billion liters in 2028. Notably, Asia accounts for nearly 1/3 of the total global beverage consumption and is forecast to have the strongest growth in the period 2024-2028.
