On the morning of February 10, the Standing Committee of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee held a conference on personnel work and handed over the decision on early retirement to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
At the conference, Mr. Tran Van Cuong, Head of the Organizing Committee of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, announced the Decision of the Central Party Secretariat on personnel work.
Specifically, the Central Party Secretariat decided that Mr. Pham Thien Nghia, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province, will retire early from February 15, 2025.
Dong Thap Provincial Party Secretary Le Quoc Phong presented the Central Party Secretariat's Decision on early retirement to Mr. Pham Thien Nghia.
At the conference, Dong Thap Provincial Party Secretary Le Quoc Phong said that over 30 years of work, Mr. Pham Thien Nghia has worked in many units, has a sense of responsibility for work, made great efforts to complete tasks, and has been recognized, evaluated and trusted with many important responsibilities.

During his work, Mr. Pham Thien Nghia has always been a responsible officer, concerned with the assigned work; in relationships, he has always been united and sociable with comrades and colleagues and demonstrated the courage and sense of responsibility of a leader in his work.
Mr. Pham Thien Nghia was born in 1966; hometown Dinh Yen commune, Lap Vo district; professional qualifications: Master of Business and Management, University of Party Building and State Administration, University of Economics and Commerce.
During his career, Mr. Pham Thien Nghia has held the following positions: Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, Secretary of the Thap Muoi District Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province.
At the 17th session of the 9th Provincial People's Council (held on December 7 and 8, 2020), Mr. Pham Thien Nghia was elected as Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee. From December 2020 to present, he has held the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee.
According to the Department of Home Affairs of Dong Thap province, after rearranging the organizational structure of the political system according to Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, Dong Thap plans to reduce 6 departments, 29 organizations within the department (26 divisions and 3 branches); reduce 4 public service units under the Provincial People's Committee./.
