I am deeply impressed by the ancient pagodas, the lantern streets, the Chinese shopping streets. Now Ho Chi Minh City is a civilized city, I do not think it can still retain the unique cultural features of a hundred years ago,” said Ms. Tran Thu Ha.

Ho Chi Minh City is home to the largest Chinese population in the country, with over 500,000 people, accounting for about 6% of the city's population, concentrated in Districts 5, 6, and 11. Cho Lon (Ho Chi Minh City) is also the largest Chinatown in the world. This place was once considered the second center of Ho Chi Minh City because of the hustle and bustle of stalls and merchants. With a history of formation and development of more than 300 years, thanks to the cultural exchange between the two ethnic groups of Vietnam and China, this area has formed unique cultural values, expressed through architecture, cuisine, beliefs and customs. For a long time, Cho Lon has become an attractive destination for tourists because of the unique identity of the Chinese community in Ho Chi Minh City. |
