Tra Vinh sends 1,227 citizens off to join the army

In Duyen Hai town, the unit chosen as the venue for the military handover ceremony of Tra Vinh province in 2025, the ceremony was attended by comrades: Le Van Han, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Military Service Council (NVQS); Le Thanh Binh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Colonel Pham Hong Thang, Head of Logistics - Engineering, Military Region 9; Colonel Truong Thanh Phong, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command (CHQS); leaders of provincial departments, branches, unions, leaders of the Town Party Committee, People's Committee of Duyen Hai town, religious dignitaries, along with many families, relatives and new soldiers of Duyen Hai town.

In 2025, Tra Vinh province was assigned the target of selecting and calling 1,227 citizens to join the army, of which 901 citizens joined the military service, the units included: Division 9, Corps 4; Division 8, Military Region 9; Provincial Military Command, Provincial Border Guard Command and 326 citizens performing the People's Public Security service.

The Provincial Military Command has advised the Provincial Military Service Council to issue directive documents and carry out steps to prepare for selection and call citizens for military service. Localities have done a good job of grasping the source of youth aged 17 and youth of military service age, registering 7,545/7,545 youth aged 17, and managing the source of citizens of military service age of 38,331 youth.

The Military Service Council (commune and district levels) conducts the review of citizens of military age at 02 levels according to the process; directs the commune level to organize discussions at hamlets and quarters for people to participate in ensuring publicity, democracy and fairness. Through the review, 6,094 citizens are eligible for military service. Organizing military service health check-ups for 3,507 young people, the result is that 1,411 citizens are healthy enough to join the army. In 2025, Duyen Hai town is assigned the target of selecting and calling 70 citizens to join the army, of which 44 citizens will join the military service and 26 citizens will perform the duty of the People's Public Security.

Speaking at the military enlistment ceremony, comrade Nguyen Trong Nhan, Deputy Secretary of the Town Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Duyen Hai Town, Chairman of the Military Service Council of Duyen Hai Town said that the youth of Duyen Hai Town have always been the leading shock force, making many great and valuable contributions, following in the footsteps of their predecessors and the traditions of Duyen Hai Town.

Every year, dozens of young people enthusiastically join the army, perform military service, and join the People's Public Security Forces, receiving training and education in politics, law, military knowledge, police skills, physical training and discipline. Many comrades have matured and become leaders and commanders at all levels, contributing to continuing the glorious tradition of the army and people of the heroic Duyen Hai town.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nhan believes that the new recruits will uphold the tradition of their heroic hometown of Duyen Hai town, the glorious tradition of previous generations of fathers and brothers, uphold the good nature of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", "Loyal to the country, filial to the people, completing any task, overcoming any difficulty, defeating any enemy", serving the country and the people.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Duyen Hai town requested the Party committees, authorities at all levels, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the town, departments, branches, socio-political organizations and the entire population of Duyen Hai town to implement the military rear policy well. Continue to encourage, care for, and provide timely and practical support to the families of new recruits in particular and the people in general, so that the new recruits can confidently perform their duties, which is the common responsibility of the entire political system in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
