Attending the event were Mr. Tran The Thuan, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City; screenwriter Duong Cam Thuy, Vice President of the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Ho Chi Minh City; People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau; People's Artist Thanh Vy; writer Bich Ngan; director Nguyen Hong Dung, ... and many artists, actors, directors, and stage authors of many generations.

According to tradition, Vietnam Theater Day on the 12th day of the 8th lunar month is also the Theater Founder's Death Anniversary, so the Theater Founder's Death Anniversary is organized solemnly, respectfully, and thoughtfully by the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association - Ho Chi Minh City Artists' Friendship Committee, with full rituals of praying, offering incense, flowers, tea, and fruit to the Founder and the souls of the typical predecessors of Vietnamese theater.
The Theatre Ancestor Commemoration Day is a cultural ceremony closely associated with the traditional beliefs of Vietnamese art. For artists working in the field of stage art, the Theatre Ancestor Commemoration Day has a very great and profound meaning, it is an occasion to offer incense to the ancestors of the profession, to remember and express gratitude to the ancestors who created the stage art, and at the same time to pay tribute to previous generations of artists and to the audience who have accompanied the artists.

People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association, shared: “After a year of hard work, the city's theater has shown signs of better development than in previous years. A series of new theaters such as Hong Van, Minh Nhi, Thanh Loc have also affirmed their position in the cultural and artistic life of Ho Chi Minh City, alongside long-standing theaters such as Idecaf, Hoang Thai Thanh, The Gioi Tre... Cai Luong theater has also gradually found itself again, although it has its ups and downs, but it is also a positive sign. Reality also shows that a new generation of young artists is beginning to form and develop strongly. Through the Ancestor's Death Anniversary activities, professionals have more confidence, today's next generation remembers the predecessors who built the theater, thereby feeling their role towards the profession, towards the public, those who have helped them develop their profession better".

MC Quyen Linh confided: “Every time attending the Ancestor Commemoration, not only Quyen Linh but all the artists are filled with emotions. It is an opportunity for everyone to meet, share their thoughts about their profession and work, and burn incense to pray for good things for the stage. As a stage actor, I hope that the stages will always be lit so that artists have more opportunities to work, improve their skills, serve the audience, and hope that one day the city will have a standard, quality theater dedicated to the stage.”
At noon of the same day, Idecaf Drama Theater also performed the Ancestor's Death Anniversary rituals at 28 Le Thanh Ton, District 1 with the participation of many artists and actors.
