Presidents of the United States, South Korea and many countries congratulate Vietnam on National Day

US President Joe Biden stressed his commitment to supporting a strong, independent, prosperous and self-reliant Vietnam. The presidents of South Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines and many other countries also sent messages of congratulations to Vietnam on National Day.

On September 3, information from the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that on the occasion of the 79th National Day on September 2, in recent days, leaders of many countries have sent congratulatory messages and letters.

Wishing to further strengthen relations with Vietnam

In a telegram sent to General Secretary and President To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah affirmed that Brunei always treasures the long-standing friendship with Vietnam. The head of Brunei hopes that on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Partnership, the two countries will continue to strengthen cooperation in the fields of trade, energy, people-to-people exchange and join hands to promote the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and the new Vision 2045, towards the common goals of peace, stability and prosperity in the region. On the occasion of Vietnam's National Day, Malaysian King Ibrahim Ismail and Queen sent a congratulatory letter to General Secretary and President To Lam. Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives Johari bin Abdul sent a congratulatory letter to Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man. Malaysian senior leaders expressed their delight at the growing and expanding Vietnam-Malaysia strategic partnership in many fields; a testament to the close relationship over the past 50 years between the leaders and people of the two countries. The Malaysian leader then expressed his belief that the cooperation between the two countries will achieve more substantive results, for the people of the two countries and for peace, cooperation and development in the region. Also in the ASEAN bloc, Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. sent a congratulatory letter to General Secretary, President To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. In the letter, President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. warmly congratulated Vietnam on its great achievements in national construction and development. He also praised the Vietnamese people's will and steadfast determination on the path to regaining independence and freedom. The Philippine leader then expressed his belief that the strong development of the Vietnamese economy will contribute to peace and stability in the ASEAN region. He also affirmed his desire to continue to deepen the strategic partnership with Vietnam, for peace, cooperation and development, and for the benefit of the people of the two countries. Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn sent a congratulatory message to General Secretary and President To Lam. Thai Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai sent a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. In the congratulatory messages, Thai leaders expressed their delight at the comprehensive development in all areas of cooperation between the two countries, especially trade, investment, tourism and infrastructure.

Thailand affirmed that it always attaches importance to the friendship and close relationship with Vietnam and hopes that the two countries will continue to seize new opportunities to promote cooperation, for the common interests of the two countries and for a prosperous future for the two peoples. On this occasion, Indonesian President Joko Widodo sent a congratulatory letter to General Secretary and President To Lam and expressed his belief that the relationship between the two countries will be promoted to a new height.

Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Countries Congratulate

On the occasion of Vietnam's National Day, leaders of countries that are Comprehensive Strategic Partners also sent congratulatory messages/letters. In his congratulatory message to General Secretary and President To Lam, President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol affirmed that after more than 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations, Vietnam and the Republic of Korea have built a close cooperative relationship based on the foundation of friendship and solid trust. The leader of the Republic of Korea hopes that the two countries will continue to expand and deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in all fields in the coming time. US President Joe Biden sent a congratulatory message to General Secretary and President To Lam and the people of Vietnam. In the message, Mr. Joe Biden thanked Vietnam for the warm welcome he received during his visit in 2023. The US President assessed that Vietnam and the US have made great progress in building a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, thereby contributing to peace, stability and development in the region. On this occasion, US President Joe Biden reaffirmed the US's support for a strong, independent, prosperous and self-reliant Vietnam, and expressed his desire to further strengthen the relationship between the Governments and peoples of the two countries. Sending a congratulatory letter to General Secretary and President To Lam, Governor-General of Australia Samantha Mostyn emphasized that the two countries are close friends and expressed her belief that the Australia-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will continue to develop. On this occasion, Japanese Emperor Naruhito also sent a congratulatory message to General Secretary and President To Lam. Previously, on September 2, leaders of China, Russia and India sent congratulatory messages/letters. Thus, as of September 3, all countries that are Comprehensive Strategic Partners of Vietnam have sent congratulatory messages/letters on the 79th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.
