The series of events is within the framework of the 3rd National Conference of Women Scientists in 2023 with the theme "Application of Science and Technology in Social Life and Community Health Care". The conference took place over two days, November 10 and 11, at Phenika University (Hanoi), with the participation of 60 reporters and nearly 300 delegates who are Executive Committee members, Standing Committee members, officials, members of member associations, branches, and units under the Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals.
At 3 thematic seminars, female scientists from leading research institutes in Vietnam presented 16 scientific reports on outstanding research topics with high practical applicability and contributing to serving life, socio-economy, and community health care. This is part of 70 scientific reports submitted to this year's Conference. The topic "Environment and Agriculture with Sustainable Development" had the most reports (27/70 reports), showing that the scientific community is paying much attention to the green transformation, economic development coupled with environmental protection, and climate change adaptation of the country.
The series of events also partly demonstrates the strong rise of the Vietnamese female intellectual team. In scientific research, many other female intellectuals of different generations are in charge of State-level research tasks, or tasks belonging to key State-level programs, which are also higher than before, and have achieved many good results in terms of science as well as practical application, which have been recognized by society.
At the seminars, delegates also discussed and expressed their desire to connect and expand the network of female scientists to share scientific research activities more directly and regularly.
The results of the three workshops will be summarized and shared at the plenary session of the 3rd National Conference of Women Scientists in 2023 on the morning of November 11. On this occasion, the Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals will award 62 certificates of merit to young female scientists (aged 40 and under) who have made many contributions to scientific research. Among them are 16 PhDs and 1 Associate Professor.
Many female scientists have presided over the acceptance of excellent ministerial and provincial level projects and won domestic and international science and technology awards. Thereby, demonstrating their sense of responsibility, dedication and enthusiasm for society and the community, contributing to the achievements of the Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals.
Immediately after the National Women Scientists Conference, the Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals also held the fourth Standing Committee and Executive Committee Conference to summarize activities in 2023 and propose key directions for activities in 2024.
The Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals was established on March 8, 2011, and is a member association of the Vietnam Women's Union. After more than 10 years of establishment, the Association has more than 5,000 members belonging to 8 member associations in 8 provinces/cities, 33 affiliated branches in central agencies, universities, and research institutes. 2 branches in Binh Dinh and Quang Ninh.
