On the morning of July 15, the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association organized a seminar on "Ho Chi Minh City's Cai Luong Theater, 1975 - 2025", with the participation of People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau, People's Artist Tran Minh Ngoc, Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Quoc Thang, Dr. Le Hong Phuoc, Dr. Vo Thi Yen, Meritorious Artist Le Thien, Meritorious Artist Ca Le Hong, Meritorious Artist Ho Van Thanh, director Thanh Hap, playwright Duc Hien, Hoang Song Viet and directors, authors, Cai Luong researchers, directors, Theater Reporters Club, Theory and Criticism Board...

All are devoted to addressing theoretical issues to improve the current Cai Luong stage in Ho Chi Minh City.

The seminar was held to unify the structure for editing, printing and publishing the reference book - the second book edited by the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association, to celebrate the important event, which is the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Author Nguyen Phuc An (lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities) spoke at the seminar "Ho Chi Minh City Reformed Theater, 1975 - 2025".

There were 18 presentations by 12 authors reaffirming the valuable values that the reformed theater from 1975 to present has achieved, from the important stages of creating the work: author, director, actor and also the training, broadcasting, and reformed theater videos in the period after 1975.

The presentations focused on the issue of cai luong performing art and the performance style of stage artists from 1975 to the present, in order to summarize a theoretical perspective on the creative trends, staging forms and factors that make cai luong stage attractive. It can be said that in the first 10 years after the country's reunification, the cai luong stage in Ho Chi Minh City had 22 art units operating, with diverse themes and styles, creating a brilliant golden age, followed by the formation of the Tran Huu Trang award (1991-2012).

Researchers and artists have recalled a period when the art of reformed opera was innovated by a team of directors who learned from Eastern European theaters, bringing a new form of strong development of the art of reformed opera.
It was the innovation efforts from every stage of this period that spread into people's lives, creating a special mark with the participation of 22 famous art units, training a generation of talented artists for the cai luong stage.
Director, People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau - Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association gave the opening speech at the seminar "Ho Chi Minh City Reformed Theater, 1975 - 2025".
A series of papers such as: "Ho Chi Minh City's reformed theater after 1975 until now: Causes of crisis and issues raised"; "Ho Chi Minh City's reformed theater lives in a peaceful and independent country"; "Basic characteristics of Ho Chi Minh City's reformed theater from 1975 to 1990"; "Authors and trends in writing scripts for Southern reformed theater from 1975 until now"; "Some thoughts on reformed theater from after 1975 until now" were presented at the seminar.
Author Hoang Song Viet spoke passionately at the seminar "Ho Chi Minh City Reformed Theatre, 1975 - 2025".
"The art of reformed theater in Ho Chi Minh City from 1975 to present: reformed theater and the public today"; "Reformed theater on HTV from 1975 to present?"; "Reformed theater on the small screen has promoted the reformed theater stage: Advantages and limitations for historical reformed theater"; "Reformed theater on historical themes: 6 common fictional forms"; "The life of theoretical criticism from 1975 to present on reformed theater"; "Too many competitions but how is the life of reformed theater"; "From Thanh Tam Award to Tran Huu Trang Award"; "The birth of reformed theater videos and the consequences"….
The seminar received many profound contributions and proposed many solutions to rectify the cai luong stage.
Director, People's Artist Tran Minh Ngoc introduced a yearbook of 18 papers "Ho Chi Minh City Cai Luong Theater, 1975 - 2025".
People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association emphasized: "The issue raised by the discussion is to structure the book's content tightly, in which it goes deep into the theoretical aspect. The editorial board has been established by the Association, and will be organized into sub-committees, scientifically distributed so that the heads of the sub-committees, including researchers, journalists, authors, and directors, will be in charge. We must look back at a period of brilliant development of the reformed theater to find out the reasons why today's reformed theater is facing difficulties, thereby finding solutions and experimental methods for today's reformed theater life. At the same time, there will be proposals and advice for the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to determine the goals for the next direction of the Ho Chi Minh City reformed theater after 50 years of national reunification...".
