Billionaire Elon Musk said Grok 3 is in the final stages of development and is expected to be deployed in "the next week or two." Musk described Grok 3 as having powerful reasoning capabilities thanks to the use of aggregated data, calling it "scary smart."
Mr Musk described Grok 3 as "frighteningly smart"
Popular chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini currently rely heavily on real-world data. While real-world data helps chatbots better understand the nuances and complexities of humans, it can also lead to accusations of data theft and restricted access to information, thereby reducing the chatbot’s capabilities.
The superiority of Grok 3
Meanwhile, the synthetic data that Grok 3 uses offers many benefits, including addressing data scarcity, eliminating sensitive information, minimizing bias, and enabling self-error analysis. This also enhances the ability to generate more training examples for the chatbot.
Grok 3 will compete with products like ChatGPT (OpenAI), Gemini (Google), Claude (Anthropic) and Llama (Meta). Mr. Musk said during the conference that Grok 3 outperformed any product that has been released in the tests the company performed.
In addition to introducing Grok 3, Elon Musk also criticized OpenAI, a company he co-founded with Sam Altman in 2015 but no longer holds a stake in. Musk criticized OpenAI's shift toward profit, saying: "OpenAI was supposed to be open source, non-profit, but now they've changed their name to closed AI to maximize profits. They're chasing money at the next level."
Musk’s comments come just a day after a group he leads offered $97.4 billion for the nonprofit arm of OpenAI. In response, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman offered to buy Musk’s social media platform X for $9.74 billion.
