The 37th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee will summarize the 8th extraordinary session and give opinions on preparations for the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly.

As planned, the 37th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee will take place over 5.5 days (September 12, September 13 morning and from September 23 to 26, 2024). Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man will deliver the opening speech and, together with the Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly, will take turns presiding over the content of the session. At this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will review and give opinions on many important contents. Including reviewing the report on the National Assembly's people's petition work in August 2024; reviewing and approving the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Reviewing the report on the results of the National Assembly's Thematic Supervision Delegation on "Implementation of policies and laws on real estate market management and social housing development from 2015 to the end of 2023". Consider the draft joint resolution between the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Government, and the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front detailing the organization of meetings with voters by National Assembly deputies. At the same time, give opinions on the draft Law on Chemicals (amended); on the Government's report on the implementation of the Constitution, laws, and resolutions of the National Assembly; on the 2024 work reports of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court; and the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy. Give opinions on the Government's reports on crime prevention and control, law enforcement, and corruption prevention and control in 2024. In addition, at this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will also give opinions on the draft Law on Special Consumption Tax; the draft Law on Corporate Income Tax (amended); the draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Advertising. the draft Law on Employment (amended); the draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance; Draft Law on Teachers; Draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army; Government report on citizen reception, handling of administrative complaints and denunciations in 2024. In this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will also summarize the 8th extraordinary session and give opinions on preparations for the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly.

Previously, on August 26, based on the provisions of the Constitution and the law, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly decided to convene the 8th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly to consider personnel matters under the authority of the National Assembly. The 8th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly took place in one day (August 26, 2024 at the National Assembly House, Hanoi).
