On the afternoon of December 22, the Ministry of National Defense held a conference to summarize and commend the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024. Attending the conference were Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defense, head of the exhibition steering committee.
Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien affirmed that the International Defense Exhibition is one of the largest and most important defense diplomacy events in 2024, associated with the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day.
The General also said that according to the organizing committee's control machine, the number of people visiting the exhibition as of noon today, December 22, was over 260,000, and the current demand for visitors is still very high.
Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien also assessed that the preparation for the exhibition was very comprehensive and thoughtful, the implementation was very methodical and professional, the results were also very rich and especially the media spread it so strongly.
The Deputy Minister of National Defense also said that the exhibition was strongly communicated, not only with more than 8,000 articles and more than 200 domestic and international journalists reporting on it, but also by spreading it on social networks.

Through the results of the exhibition and positive feedback from international delegations, the Deputy Minister of National Defense affirmed that the event demonstrated the maturity of the army in all aspects, including defense industry, military trade and the level of organization and command on the working front.
"We have achieved many rich results when spreading the prestige and position of the Vietnam People's Army and the country through the event of the 80th anniversary of its founding, through a series of commemorative activities, in which the contribution to the success of the defense exhibition is not small," said Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien.
According to the report of Major General Le Quang Tuyen, Deputy Director of the General Department of Defense Industry, at the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 (from December 19 to December 23), units of the General Department of Defense Industry and the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel) signed 16 contracts with a total value of about 286.3 million USD. Of which, the General Department of Defense Industry signed 11 contracts worth 278.3 million USD; the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel) signed 5 contracts worth 8 million USD.
17 strategic cooperation agreements between Vietnam's defense industry and enterprises of countries with developed industries such as the US, India, France, and Belgium have also been signed.
