In early May 2023, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed Decision No. 348/QD-TTg dated May 6, 2023 of the Prime Minister approving the Strategy "Digital transformation of journalism to 2025, with a vision to 2030".

Accordingly, the Government sets a target that by 2025, 70% of press agencies will post content on digital platforms (prioritizing domestic digital platforms); 50% of press agencies will use centralized data analysis and processing platforms, applying artificial intelligence to optimize operations; 80% of press agencies will operate a converged newsroom model, in line with the development of advanced science and technology in the world, producing content according to digital journalism trends.

To achieve this goal, at the "Workshop on digital transformation for Radio and Television Stations" organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications in early July 2023 in Thua Thien Hue, Mr. Nguyen Ha Yen - Deputy Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information (Ministry of Information and Communications) - said that radio and television units nationwide need to have fundamental solutions such as: Perfecting the legal environment; developing and improving the quality of human resources; developing digital platforms, digital journalism products; strengthening international cooperation.

With useful information on the general situation and trends of digital transformation in the field of radio and television, the "Workshop on digital transformation for radio and television stations" attracted the attention of more than 200 guests from radio and television stations across the country, representatives of leaders of a number of functional units of the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, the Department of Press, the Institute of Software and Digital Content, and the National Digital Transformation Department.

This is one of the activities in the 2023 program of the Ministry of Information and Communications, and is also an event within the 4th year of the Project "Developing Vietnamese journalism in the period 2020-2024" with the continuous support of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk).

At the event, the speakers presented on digital transformation strategies in the field of journalism, indicators to assess the level of digital transformation of the Ministry of Information and Communications; experience in producing television programs and managing content in the digital environment; digital business skills in the digital transformation process in radio and television agencies such as: developing readers and audiences - increasing reach and interaction from audiences; how to collect, analyze and use data to develop digital business; skills to develop revenue, develop sustainable business...

The workshop is also a bridge for reporters and editors of radio and television stations across the country to exchange knowledge and experience on digital transformation in the field of journalism, in the production and editing of television programs, thereby contributing to improving the set of criteria for evaluating digital transformation at press agencies.

Here, television units have the opportunity to exchange experiences in exploiting digital data, collecting and analyzing digital data, and how to effectively develop and exploit Youtube channels.

“Workshop on digital transformation for Radio and Television Stations” is one of the series of activities of the Vietnam Press Development Project for the period 2020-2024, with the continuous support of Vinamilk Company, aiming to support the development of Vietnamese revolutionary press to integrate with the development of world press.

After 3 years (2020 - 2022), the project has successfully organized more than 20 activities including organizing training courses, forums, seminars on technology, journalism, publishing 6 books on journalism... reaching nearly 10,000 press managers, media managers, reporters, and journalists across the country.

The workshop on digital transformation for radio and television stations held in Thua Thien Hue is the third activity of the Vietnam Press Development Project in 2023.
