Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh leaves for the G20 Summit in Brazil and an official visit to the Dominican Republic.

Early on the morning of November 16, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, left Hanoi to attend the G20 Summit, conduct a number of bilateral activities in Brazil, and pay an official visit to the Dominican Republic.

At the invitation of the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, G20 Chair 2024 Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and his wife, President of the Dominican Republic Luis Rodolfo Abinader Corona and his wife, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife will join a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to attend the G20 Summit and conduct a number of bilateral activities in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from November 16 to 19, 2024 and pay an official visit to the Dominican Republic from November 19 to 21, 2024.

This is the fifth time Vietnam has been invited to attend a G20 Summit and the first time a key Vietnamese leader has visited the Dominican Republic.

The official delegation accompanying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife Le Thi Bich Tran on the working trip included: Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung; Minister, Head of the Government Office Tran Van Son; Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi; Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung; Deputy Minister of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam; Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Association Luong Quoc Doan; Deputy Minister of Public Security, Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Thanh Binh; Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong. Leaders of a number of ministries, branches and localities also joined the working delegation.

The 19th G20 Summit held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with the theme "Building a Fair World and a Sustainable Planet" will prioritize discussions on poverty reduction, sustainable development - energy transition and reform of global governance institutions.

The fact that Vietnam has been regularly invited to attend G20 conferences in recent years and accepted the invitation to attend this G20 Summit shows that the issues discussed are consistent with the goals that Vietnam is committed to implementing; not only affirming the increasingly enhanced role and position of Vietnam in the international and regional arena, but also creating opportunities to promote trade, investment and cooperation with member countries.

In 2024, Vietnam and Brazil celebrate the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations. This working trip by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh contributes to further strengthening the Vietnam-Brazil Comprehensive Partnership, orienting the work of promoting bilateral cooperation to a new height in the coming time.

For the Dominican Republic, the official visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh demonstrates Vietnam's respect and desire to continue to consolidate and deepen the fine solidarity, friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the Dominican Republic, towards the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries./.
